The Bulldogs and Umpires: Time for a Royal Commission?

The problem is the inconsistency. They play for frees and good on them, it’s effective. They are the worst throwing team in the competition still and they never get penalised. If you live by the sword you’re supposed to die by it.

I absolutely love it when these mouthbreathers try that on because they know there’s no way to prove it

Nobody records missed kicks so they can claim it because of “discipline” and screech “fake news” when others point the free kick differential
Imagine the bloke who thinks posting #MilkFreeThrowDogs is even vaguely amusing calling other people mouth breathers.

The Dogs neither receive the most free kicks in the league nor concede the fewest. What are people actually on about? Based on a lot of people’s thought process here which is that free kicks should be an even number for both teams, we’re not the biggest floppers nor are we the most disciplined. The differential hence is a confluence of factors which all point to the fact we’re well coached in this area of the game.

“Free kick bulldogs” is to Big Footy what “Lock her up” was to the Trump campaign. A sound bite repeated enough times that those who lack any level of intelligence start taking it as gospel.

Thankfully, umpires wouldn’t be reading Big Footy or this Salem witch hunt might actually have some perceived impact on them.

Let's not pretend no other team in the comp has dodgy handbells, shall we? Such a ridiculous fallacy.

Totally the position I presented. It certainly wasn’t that you were the worst at it and still have +40 more frees than the next team

I don’t think it’s a conspiracy

I do think Bevo coaches your mob to exaggerate contact (see Weightman) and exploit the fact the league wants to keep the footy moving out of stoppages (ie throwing it)

Bevo is on record as saying that’s what you did after the 2016 finals series ffs he’s admitted it

What I find galling is that 5 years later you’re still doing it and still getting away with it and now it seemingly includes players like Bont not being able to be tackled and be called holding the ball no matter how badly he “disposes” of it
Okay so we’ve now hit a point where we coach our team to receive free kicks - even if they were true, again, despite not having the highest free kick tally).

Are you suggesting every club doesn’t throw it or that we are the only ones that don’t get caught?
Well I'll say at the outset that I'm not a subscriber to this AFL/umpires/Bulldogs conspiracy theory, but has it occurred to you that Footscray's demographic is strongly migrant? Who tend to follow soccer.

I could totally believe that would be a target area for the AFL. There's one theory. (Again, I'm not suggesting there is a conspiracy.)
The fact that what you’ve said is the most reasonable excuse for a conspiracy speaks volumes.

No we don’t. We give away less. Why is it hard for people to understand 😂

We do not receive the most free kicks in the comp. read that again.

So funny you bring Naughton up and shows what a goose you are. Lol, in round 23 - Naughton was reported for a dangerous tackle on one of your mob who literally went to ground then when on the ground head butted the deck to draw the free.

Commentary actual thought the Port player should have been fined for diving.
So it resulted in a shot on goal and your player had to pay a fine at the tribunal did he?

What type of argument is this 😂 Jonas ‘dangerous’ tackles Naughton, gets reported and is fined. Naughton ‘dangerous’ tackles Jonas is reported then cleared immediately because Jonas head-butted the ground intentionally after the tackle. So who has been unequivocally proven the biggest flopper in the two incidents?

Quit while you’re behind mate!

The population of Footstcray is maybe 20k people tops. So the theory you're proposing in this thought experiment is that the AFL could be compromising the integrity of the national competition in pursuit of the hearts, minds and wallets of these 20k people?

You're not suggesting there is a conspiracy, I know, but this is one of the strongest ideas you have for why there could be.
I... don't even know what to say...

Please if Naughton didn’t flop he wouldn’t have hit the ground and debate over this doesn’t account for the fact Daniel did the exact same thing to Robbie Gray and oh yep * checks notes* nothing

And yet, it's the best idea I've heard to date.

Just pointing something out that AFAIK no-one else has mentioned. The whole topic is not one that exercises me enough to give any further thought.

The western bulldog are soccer fanatic floppers, now I’ve read it all. You know precisely zero about the demographics of the western suburbs of Melbourne.

Despite your post not deserving a response in the first place, I’ll politely point out to you that 95% of our players are not from the western suburbs. 95% of our coaches are not from the western suburbs😂

As I said mate, you should quit while you’re behind. Somehow you’ve regressed further from incoherent drivel😂

The AFL would much prefer a 2nd Bulldogs flag in this era, rather than an Essendon or Brisbane flag in this era. I can't imagine either of those two teams winning the flag being better for the AFL's aims or there being more money in the AFL system. People have got that right. AFL would prefer it if Essendon didn't have success and didn't add the tens of thousands of members that entails.

Yeah whatevs. The theory was about fans, not players or coaches. But seriously, couldn't care less.
