I dont know about you but if I elbowed someone at work out of frustration i would probably lose my job and face legal consequences. Regardless of how much of a dickhead the bloke i elbowed was being after the fact.

Please stop, their work is a contact sport, yours is posting rubbish on an internet forum.

Are you actually serious ?

That bit obviously isn't.

But a clip on the chin can hurt more than it appears. I'm not saying there was enough force for him to go down, but he's hardly the cartoon villain people are making out. I bet he dominates in the west for a long career to much booing. Maybe it's cos he's ginger.

would you even class it as a hit though?
Yeah I think so, Careless + Low impact + High contact = ($1,500 fine, down to $1,000 with an early plea)

Imagine you turned up to a meeting about a potential contract and a person from a rival firm elbowed you in the face, but only made glancing contact? Even if that person didn't make contact but tried to knock you on your a--, in my company you'd have to report it to HR.

See, it's easy to write hypotheticals.

There needs to be more free kicks paid for the start of the next quarter, would sort out this hero business at the breaks.

Imagine if we rocked up for a potential contract and some ginger campaigner punched my mate in the chest. I think old mate ginger might cop more than a glancing elbow as he's shoved in the shoulder ;)

My interpretation was that he was trying to punch Oliver in the shoulder (in the same way that Oliver punched Shuey(?) seconds earlier) and that his fist slides off Oliver's shoulder causing the elbow to continue through.

It was a forearm/elbow. If he's throwing a punch to the shoulder in the below pic, he's doing it all wrong.

I think he's just desperate to prove he's not as soft as everyone now realises him to be.

Kinda pathetic that he's gone out of his way to get someone suspended just to continue on with his story of not lying.

And then straight after his flop Oliver gets up and is bouncing around the pack like let me at him while really not getting any closer and his team mates then start patting him on the back, "it's ok buddy everything will be fine". AFL should be fining Demons for bringing the game into disrepute!

Or you could use the image that literally shows his fist brushing the shoulder at the same time as the elbow clipping the chin.

Still images are useless though. Video shows him pushing him away with a forearm. Not watching him while doing so. Accidentally got him in the chin. Not intentional, and the old line of 'Insufficient force' should have applied here.

Intent will be downgraded, and possibly deemed insufficient force (that part is unlikely as the MRP have to save face - maintaining there was force is their only excuse for not pursuing a staging charge) - and Schofield will be free to play this week.

That's a lovely picture, but I think the video/gif does it more justice, but let's examine the pic seeing as I haven't seen it before.
Look how low he's aiming. Look where his eyes are directed. Do you think that maybe he went to give Oliver an arm bar to the chest to push him away, but as Oliver is backing away, he's realised that he won't reach and changes to punch on the shoulder half way through the action? Could explain why it was sloppy and didn't connect cleanly with the shoulder. That would make it careless and unintentional and warrant a fine at best.

Sounds about right, but it's the tribunal so don't hold your breath.

Am loving this thread.

Collingwood supporters last fortnight, now the coasters having a tearful melt their clubs went down to a come from behind Melbourne.

Not happy with Oliver, but the fact he's got most of you in a spin is pure gold.

and just how much were the existing contract payouts... pray do tell...
Package was $2.7m. Roos was on $1.5m a year. All of Neeld, Schwabb and Connolly had to receive payouts. Do the math.

loser club that has unashamedly cheated to get a plethora of high draft picks over and over and over again until they finally get it right. To compound it, their supporters are right royal twats
Investigated for tanking in one solitary season = "over and over" :drunk:

If your suggestion is we "cheated" in seasons since then, you're an idiot. In any case, tanking was known to be widespread in a system that encouraged it. Wallace practically admitted to it in Richmond's case. We were the only ones dragged over the coals for it. You're welcome.

Incidentally, here's the team we fielded against West Coast. In terms of picks we used, a grand total of four first rounders:

B: Hibberd (30) McDonald (53) Jetta (51)

HB: Lewis (48) Frost (23) Bugg (43)

C: Melksham (31) Oliver (4) Salem (9)

HF: Stretch (42) Pedersen (63) Petracca (2)

F: Hannan (46) McDonald (53) Garrett (61)

R: Viney (26) Gawn (34) Vince (23)

I: Tyson (2) Harmes (Rookie 2) Neale-Bullen (40) Hunt (57)

No, he's actually just making a further idiot of himself on social media and providing BF with lulz on a sleepy winter Tuesday. Cheers Clarry. #goodbloke

Don't let this distract you from the fact you led by 3 goals with 5 minutes left and lost. If anything it's proven how salty af you lot are. Get over it ffs.
