It’ll never happen but the more I think about it, Horse would be bloody fantastic. I’d pretty much have faith in whatever he chose to do be it regenerate the current list or flog off everything and start from Ground Zero.

Alright, few things:
  • What went wrong? We just lost our shape ahead of the ball, didn't help with Jefferson going down early
  • Is it the coaches fault? We all gotta own that, it's about being vulnerable. If you play like that then it reflects on the whole coaches group, we gotta work hard to fix that.
  • What do you do about Oliver, Viney, Petracca being terrible kicks? New gameplan, keep shape in front of ball and think what can I control, I can control my intensity and contest.

Something like that, I dunno, it was all garbage.

Nine years into being a senior coach, you would hope he knows better.
It's just who he is I reckon. He's just that kind of bloke that is super clumsy with what he says and doesn't seem to be able to think ahead in terms of what he's about to say. He could be a coach for 30 years and still do stuff like this.

Something I'd be more willing to overlook if he was a great coach. At the moment, you've got a guy who's diabolically bad in the media and is a poor matchday coach. Killer combo

I really hate how he talks about being vulnerable (I assume he means fess up to faults when he says this) yet cant be vulnerable himself and admit his game plan and forward structure absolutely sucks.

I'm not giving him the out because **** that guy. But i feel like longer serving coaches for some reason tend to slip up more than the newer ones

genuinly dont think we get 15k through the gates this week and it will be glorious. Heap the pressure on goodwin.

Side note: when was the last time we started underdogs at home against the Suns?
I would say opening game 2015, didn't expect to beat gc so comfortably.

Yeah he's definitely feeling under pressure, and blurted out an excuse. He could have said something like Gawn lowered his colours today, but he'll work through it. Which is the robo Goody manual I'm pretty sure.

This 360 gig doesn't do Goodwin any favours when you're going from Simpson and Longmire explaining things and making complete sense to Goody dropping his newest remix of corporate buzzwords and rehearsed answers.

I've ranted about it before but he very rarely takes any accountability on himself after a poor performance.

Wonder where he gets them from? Comes off like hes getting them from the same author or some guy or girl who does a leadership/public speaking seminar every offseason and Goody is a repeat customer.

Garry asked him tonight does the blame fall on you, your assistants or the players for the same shit repeating and he said it was all of us. Surely you just take the bullet for everyone and say its on me.

I laughed when Gaz asked him about our forward set up and kicks inside 50. He gave his answer so Garry pressed for something deeper and Goody just repeated his answer and shuffled some words around.

Basically said Jefferson going down cost us the game. :$

Goodwin's fault for teaching our forwards to jump into each other and breaking The Magician's hand. 🧠

Literally never takes any blame - always deflects onto the coaching 'group' or players. Can't ****ing stand him.

Does anyone like the guy anymore? Players aren't playing for him anymore. I haven't come across one supporter who likes the guy or thinks he's doing a good job. Why in the world is he still here? The whole culture thing, drugs, rumours about gambling problems, unable to control players issues, unable to fix long standing problems onfield such as ball movement and forward entries. Some decent coaches available as of now, we need to be on the front foot now and get someone in who can actually give the club a boost of confidence again. Because the veil is well and truly back on. Clearly has been for many for awhile now, but the Kangas game surely sees the most positive supporters fed up.

As much as I hate him realistically they're not sacking him two weeks into a season - the earliest he goes is the bye rounds. Totally agree with your whole post though.
