Goddamn i am loving this thread!

Sainters, Collingwood always has and always will be Collingwood

Trying to reason with them is like trying to keep a fat kid out of the fridge:D

If it fires the saints up then so much the better on the day for you guys.

Lovin the amusing scum-based references for Maggie supporters so keep 'em coming and all you maggie fan keep stirrin' this pot while i go get some beers

Re: The colliscum chant during Roo's speach at the parade.

Try telling that to a little kid.... **** you guys are stupid
You really genuinely believe that hearing Riewoldt utter 20 words into a microphone would have made those children's day? Was it really that important? I'm sure what happens on TV when they are watching at home tomorrow will be a lot more important and stay in their memories a lot longer. I'm certainly not going to fondly remember Maxwell's words at the GF parade about going home and relaxing in years to come.

I understand where you are coming from but I think way too much has been made out of what was a pretty small incident. It happened so quickly. When I joined in the chant I wasn't thinking "Oh shit yes let's disrespect Nick". I like Rooey, I have nothing against him but it was more of a collective show of Collingwood pride rather than anything else. Wouldn't have mattered who was up there. Probably would have preferred Robert Doyle tbh.

You are seriously kidding yourself if you don't think it was an act of disrespect towards Nick. Did they do it while anyone else spoke? No simply waited until our skipper was speaking drowning his voice out and ruining the experience for St Kilda fans. Your also kidding yourself if you think no one would care... people made the effort to go out there.. seriously you must be thick.

Re: The colliscum chant during Roo's speach at the parade.

Tell you what, the Collingwood fans can certainly dish it out. But when they get a bit for their own corner they have a cry about it.

Talk about precious!

i just read through this thread. All i read is "scum" filth" pigs" ferals "toothless" "criminals" pricks, bastards" his has pretty much been the theme of the week in here.

then I read about wanting "respect" - go figure?

Your fellow supporters are simply eagerly fulfilling the stereotype, and we are all too eager to point it out when our low expectations are displayed.

Your coach and several players live up to the lowlife stereotype - how can we be expected to see past all that to find the one or two Collingwood supporters who have a high school certificate (that they didn't steal).

as bad as the people you bag. nice work Mod

Re: The colliscum chant during Roo's speach at the parade.

The thing is, we can sit here and debate the fun and passion and disrespect as much as we like, but the bottom line is that a lot of people turned out to see their boys and hear their captains speak, and a lot of people were denied the privilege in the name of 'supporting'.

A woman (Pies supporter) with her two young boys (Saints supporters) was standing next to me, and she was shattered for her kids, who'd been talking up the parade all week, they were really looking forward to seeing their heroes and listening to them talk in the flesh. They'd been trying all week to get tickets, and had no luck, so this was 'it' for them. As it would've been for thousands of others, we know how hard tickets have been to get our hands on. I really felt for her, and the kids, and all the other ones who were so disappointed over that.

While it was disrespectful towards the players, it was really disrespectful towards other supporters. Yes, Collingwood fans are passionate, and s^&t they can barrack, but there is a time and a place, and those couple of minutes weren't it.
Says it all doesn't it ? - no respect for the opposition, the occasion and the crowd around them - many of whom were kids wanting to catch a glimpse of their heroes and hear them speak.
Nothing wrong with the chant after the formalities are over - great stuff !!
By the look of some posts and other threads sad thing is we are wasting our time even pointing this out.
Worst fear is a Pies victory will give this element the impetus to breed.............
Best of Luck Saints !!!

Maybe you should red card a few of these Collingwood supporters? :D

"Stop what you're doing people, this non issue must be propagated for 6 BLOODY PAGES about how much of a non issue it is and how much of a sook '88 is, I mean I don't care and I will not care the other 50 times I state that I don't care but you're pulling the proverbial on this non isue that I don't care about because in my non caring on this non issue I shall feed from your suffering and multiply like a bad rash! while I do not care this will nto stop me propagating this for 6 BLOODY PAGES because who cares about this non issue when you could be FEEDING MY EGO as if my non caring on this non issue is an important facet as to why I FEED OFF THE LIFE FORCE OF ALL THAT IS UNHOLY IN THIS WORLD for 6 BLOODY PAGES.

Rest assured though that this is such a non issue and beneath me to even care about replying to this at all, except I've now taken the time to reply to this with my non caring about this non caring non iassue dragging on for 6 BLOODY PAGES and people repeating themselves ad nasuem, repeatedly, in succession, one after the other, LIKE LEMMINGS! This reminds me of a related topic when i fornicated with a goat so I could FEED OFF THE HATE OF FARMERS AND CONSERVATIONALISTS!

It tastes like honey, that is all for another 6 BLOODY PAGES."

...the amount of people not giving a crap with a lot to say from the Collingwood side truly undermines any attempt at a "class intelligence" being formed. You obviously cared enough to risk a red, slag off a bloke and post several quirks as to why this is a laughable situation, on a non issue while stressing that you don;t care and it's a non issue.

Re: The colliscum chant during Roo's speach at the parade.

No, we would have chanted back like any real football supporter would.

I swear some of you wouldn't survive in places like Europe and South America where stuff like this is a common occurrence.

HTFU, it really is a non-issue.

well we are not there are we knobwack?

Oh and Europe or south america you see where fans are engaged in Football Violence and fans are banned from travelling to the grounds of other fans.....

you really want THAT in Australia?
you really want more violence outside the mcg?

... you want THIS in an afl ground eh?

Re: The colliscum chant during Roo's speach at the parade.

What you Collingwood people seem to forget is that the game of football is a GAME, and thus is meant to be ENTERTAINMENT. And that's not just for you, that's for anybody who takes a part in it. We agonise a loss, but even that is part of the entertainment in a sense.

Rivalries, healthy banter, etc, that's all fine, because it's about entertainment, and there's something entertaining about you making a dig about us being the aints, and us calling you the filth, etc. That's all fine. But at a certain point, it just stops being fun.

The thing is, alot of you either don't know when that point is, or (I suspect) you don't care. You don't care because you're selfish, rude, petty and infantile. Like a two-year old, you think the world revolves around you, and that you're the only people who matter. It doesn't matter if others aren't having fun. In fact, if they're not having fun, that can actually be fun for you. Kind of like a little kid who likes pulling their dog's tail, or burning ants with a microscope.

Quick story: my sister took her 12 year old girl, 6 year old boy and my 76 year-old dad to the football regularly. That all stopped for my 12 year old neice after a Collingwood game. That was because 4 Collingwood supporters were verbally abusing our players and swearing profusely. My dad turned them, pointed to the kids, and asked them to tone it down. They responded by moving to physically attack him, and made some rather unpleasant sexual threats to my 12 year old neice. Fortunately, some cops arrived and they backed off, but not before saying, "It's the footy, this is what it's about, toughen up."

It's not what it's about. What it's about is 44 courageous souls kicking a ball. It's about people and families having fun. We don't like you because you stop it being fun. The sad part is, I know that you read that and find a perverse satisfaction in making people miserable. I think that's the same way some murderers and rapists feel.

To Stereotype it at all is just ridiculous, its as bad as those scumbag supporters your talking about!
Its all ironically hypocritical

No its not, the stereotype is an accurate one.
But what im saying is this...
In the years of going to the footy and all the bad, ugly and abusive experiences i have had with Sainters supporters, you wont see me posting up and winging do you? Its not just the Pies.
Have you ever gone to the Footy in WA? FRIG! Thats crazy ;p

I think you'll find as supporters we get the most crap thrown at us. I think we deal with it very well thank you very much.

Yeah, 'cause that was exactly what I was implying in my post.

You're getting worked up over a harmless chant. Kick back, relax and have a beer, you're in a GF tomorrow. Enjoy it, instead of getting worked up over petty shit like this.

Also, what the **** is a knobwack? Did you just make that up or is it a term you use regularly? I'm beginning to wonder how you manage to survive in Australia, let alone any other continent.

Hahaha, the persecution card...

Do you ever wonder why you get "the most crap" thrown at you?

But seriously don't worry about it... ignorance is bliss.
