4 days to go till the Doig Medal night at Burswood. I will be flying back to Perth for the week and will be there to hopefully see Fyfey pick up the main prize. I'll be tanked up on the booze, but I will try and post updates and try and pick up any goss. I have read that Palmer will be there!

Last year winners were

Doig:
1st - Mundy
2nd - Sandilands
3rd - Pavlich
4th - Hill
Beacon: Barlow
Best Clubman: Deboer

Post your predictions...

Doig:
1st - Fyfe :thumbsu:
2nd - McPharlin
3rd - Pavlich
4th - Broughton

Beacon: Mzungu
Best Clubman: Barlow (For his work with the kids and the episodes of Roving Mike!)

Maybe they should create another award... "This Year's Whipping Boy"... Johnson would win it by a mile!

Doig:
1. McPharlin
2. Fyfe
3. Pav

Beacon:
Not sure what the criteria is... It used to be the same as the Rising Star, but they changed it somewhere along the line (ie Barlow winning last year when he wasn't eligible for the RS).

So:
If it's same as RS eligibility - then probably Pitt
If it's "best first year player" - then probably Mzungu
If it's "best broad-non-specific-criteria-but-a-young-player" - then probably Clarke ...or as a roughie... FYFE!!!! :) (We shouldn't forget it was only his 2nd year!)

Best Clubman

Club site says there will be updates posted on their facebook.

Where's Seppo's updates when you need them? Could at least have told us what kind of beer they're serving by now.

Just jumped onto the Facebook page, nice photos, not!

From facebook:
Milestone man Matthew Pavlich just announced that Nat Fyfe has won the Wharfie Award - based upon what is traditionally known as 'one-percenters'. Well done Nat.

As my 1000th post on BF I would like to congratulate Nathan Fyfe for just winning the Wharfie Award which Pav presented to him for the player who put in the most 1%'s.

No votes have been counted for the Doig yet, just had both Steves up doing speeches and Ross had a few good words to say.

Schammer and Roger got up to talk about their retirements just before and I nearly teared up with the thought of Roger not running the ball out of defense next year... :(

The beers they are serving here are Crownies BTW and I would rather drink my own piss but it won't get me pissed.

My prediction still is Fyfe but I have a feeling McPharlin just might Pip him.

They are staging the votes 1-8 9-17 18-24 so I can post updates on how things have gone through the night if I'm not too drunk.

Go FYFEY!!!

Bet you 10 bucks it's not called the Wharfie award for much longer.
