Earlier in the game our tackle count was quite down compared to Crows. By the end we had 20 more tackles than they did. I was really pleased with how Freo kept the pressure going till the end.WTF? There was a huge amount of pressure applied by us. You're simply not going to be able to cover off the opposition transitioning 100% of the time and you need to pick your battles. Maybe that's what stuck with you? But great pressure game from forwards, backs and mids.
Haven’t you heard… all of our wins are against winless teamsour boys must feel pretty good when they look at the ladder - having belief is part of the journey
making them winless lolHaven’t you heard… all of our wins are against winless teams

Yes, I've been quite impressed with Banners. He's physically built and is now playing reliably and taking his moments and turning them into positive outcomes for the team. In a lot of ways, he's come on similarly to Treacy.I wish more of our forwards would take a leaf out of Banfield's book. Him and Walters are the only 2 smalls in our team who seem willing to take the responsibility to have a shot.
As big as he is, he's still got to develop and mature his bod to play the game effectively. He can still be out bodied by more experienced players and now he's getting more inside time, he'll be exposed more often.Would have to watch the replay but overall I feel a bit disappointed with Matt Johnson this year. He just seems a little off to me.

not my cup of tea, but I don't like much English comedy to be honest.
Hey, back to the footy, I was at the North game & gave Fyfe votes, but I thought he wasn't that good this week.
There were some, who rated his game.
Is it a case of, you have to be there live to see all of the hard work he does?
He was his bull beast best around the ball, but a lack of defensive running costs us a couple. He’s still finding his feet in terms of how he fits in.painful

I believe they have eased the interpretation.I just started watching this game again.
Was the non-50 to Switkowski noted at all?
When he got the free for a hold the oppo threw the ball back to Fyfe who just accepted it form the Crom soldier.
It reminded me of the time when N(D)ick Riewoldt did that to Griffin Logue & started squealing to the umpire, & be duly paid the 50.
Unless the rules have changed.???
Agree. I’ve seen good linkup speed and physicality so far- and also some rash and casual acts that remind me that he’s young, and going to be inconsistent. He was his bull beast best around the ball, but a lack of defensive running costs us a couple. It was just another umpiring mistake.I believe they have eased the interpretation.
I think you ll find the post your referring to is about Fyfe not JohnsonAgree. I’ve seen good linkup speed and physicality so far- and also some rash and casual acts that remind me that he’s young, and going to be inconsistent.
If he keeps refining his game he’ll be a valuable dont-argue presence on wing, midfield or wherever he’s played, I reckon.
EDIT: crossed post, sorry. I’m referring to Matty Johnson.Agree. I’ve seen good linkup speed and physicality so far- and also some rash and casual acts that remind me that he’s young, and going to be inconsistent.

Assessment by someone who watched and understands the game...helpful.
