As if the Pies vs Power isn't a big FU to Port Adelaide courtesy of the VFL/AFL reminding us all who the VFL Magpies are.

Port Adelaide was competitive enough last time we faced the Pies. We weren't remotely close to full strength. Let's see if Primus Port Adelaide can make a go of it from the outset.

I honestly don't think this would have crossed their mind at all...really looking forward to it, might make the trip up, few other good games looming that weekend...Sat arvo the general consensus?

Eagles again in R2? I thought we already got that revenge, be nice if we didn't play Perth teams four times.

Yep, very underwhelming.:( New coach and our first home game is against a club who doesn't help us pull a crowd. The fact it'll be 14 degrees with sideways rain just compounds the problem.

Collingwood, Round 1 at the G is a good one though. Hopefully we can ruin their unfurling.

Yep, with the unfurling of the flag and their huge supporter following at the ground. Hope we're up for it.

I also heard the Round 1 game at the G would be our only game at the venue..... until finals time.

best possible experience for our relatively inexperienced side. let them have a first hand taste of what can be theirs if they work hard enough, long enough, smart enough and don't get distracted. I reckon the guys will be massively excited to be out there in that cauldron of all places against last year's best.

Yeah no whingeing about Collingwood at MCG first up from me. 1997 reloaded!

Yeah I'm the same, absolutely love it! :thumbsu:

We've got nothing to lose. No-one (barring Port die-hards of course) would give us a hope in hell of upsetting the premiers at home so if we lose no big deal. A win would be a massive confidence boost though and set up the season beautifully.

Personally I don't think the task is beyond us. You've got to remember that Melbourne played them twice last year for a one point loss and a draw. I think we are at least as good as the Dees atm so if we get our heads right we can definitely get a good result.

Round one is the perfect time to play the reigning premiers. They will have had a shorter pre season and will be focussed on peaking for September not round 1. They may also be still suffering a bit of a hangover.

Also if we get a win over Collingwood in round one in front of a good crowd/TV audience it can only be good for our membership drive.

Wouldn't mind playing the Pies in Round 1. Would give us more of a chance to beat them then say later in the year when no doubt they will be quite strong.

Don't care who we play, in any round. If we are good enough we win, if not we lose.
To be great in this league we need to be able to win in any circumstance against anyone, otherwise we are not good enough.

Round one at the G should be good for publicity though ! Lets hope its good publicity...
