Yeah but that's why he's angling for Stipe because stipe can fight now, he just doesn't want to.

If I'm Aspinall I'm just booking a fight at 300 and building my brand. Fight Curtis blades, sleep him first round then got on the mic and call for it again. That microphone call out is more powerful than twitter

Jones just beat Gane who was a top 3-5 HW at the time. Stipe has nothing anymore, I have no idea why anyone ever wanted this fight other than the UFC telling them it's the best

Yeah and I rate Gane but he was a deer in the headlights with wrestling. I think Aspinall does that aswell to him.
I dunno I think theres a massive chance Aspinall wins and I'm not sure I wanna see Jones only loss come in his last ever fight

Unfortunately, and I think Tom knows it, there isn't any other obvious fight for him at or before 300 aside from Gane. Unless he accepts that, or Jones reinjures himself, he has to wait for the winner of the title fight or (once Jones wins and retires), the winner of Almeida/Blaydes at 299 or a potential Gane/Pavlovich fight.

He's been put in a crappy spot, and I don't blame Aspinall at all for shooting his shot every way he can.

Hoping this means Islam will be taking on Gaethje, but also a good chance he's shelved for a long time now.

This won't be happening unfortunately. Jones has just had another operation. Elbow clean up.. bone spurs.
The pec was most likely going to prevent 300 anyway.

Mark Hunt on Ariel's pod this week, he's looking at doing bare knuckle. He would have been ideal for this 10 years ago, he's nudging 50 now, hope he doesn't get hurt.

Maybe it will encourage Tuivasa to do it eventually, now there's a guy who would be a bare knuckle promoter's dream.

Hunt another guy who shouldn't be sanctioned. Dude is in for a very sad late 50's onwards, has memory loss and headaches already according to interviews was a decade ago. Believe he got pulled from a UFC fight because of it

299 is looking ridiculous. Thirteen fights announced and at least 10 I'm pumped for. There's plenty to come for 300, but just in terms of names for 299 and 298, would be very hard to top either.

Edit: Had another look at 298; there's no way 300 is going to be better.
