I think it's just a role they play well. Sitch's most famous character was the stuntman mike on shiscared. Snato did some awesome not quite getting it work (think the dinner party etiqute of the lateskits). I'm sure if Mick Malloy was on there he'd be a loud, brash shouter, and Tony Martin would be some sort of nerd.

Willing to give it another chance.

Found Sitch's character to be quite annoying, although maybe tainted by the fact I found Sitch himself incredibly annoying on the Panel. The fact that Sitch's character doesn't seem to be that far removed from Mike Moore seems a little out of place and maybe an indictment on Sitch's acting ability. Did find the point/joke laboured a bit. At this stage not a patch on Frontline.

mmm just watched the first Frontline episode before this and that episode started with Mike Moore being ambushed on radio, this started with the PM being ambushed on radio. Looks good this show. The first Frontline episode was pretty weak by Frontline standards so lets hope this improves into something great as well

i thought it was fantastic - the i'm concerned the quality may decline a little. If it doesn't, then we have one of the shows of the year here!! :D:thumbsu:

I enjoyed last nights episode more than the first.

It was somewhat predictable, but it didn't spoil the experience.

It was great seeing Bille Brown again (last time i saw him was playing the PM in 'The Dish').
He is so well suited to playing the 'rogue politician/Bob Katter' role.

I was wondering where I had seen him before.

Agree, Exhale You, last night's episode was much better than the first episode.

i preferred the first episode because of the unexpectedness of it. Once i'd seen the 1st ep, I knew basically what was going on and the little idiosyncracies of the main characters. However last night's episode was still very good.

"I really think a powerpoint would be helpful" :p

Very big improvement on episode 1:thumbsu:

Having said that the basic plot point of the Public Service Vs. The Politicians was eerily familiar of Yes Prime Minister.

The characters played by Rob Sitch and Merrick Watts, and "Murph" are not public servants. They are political advisors to the Prime Minister. That's the difference between the Hollowmen and Yes Minister/Yes Prime Minister.

No Shit Sherlock:rolleyes:

What I'm referring too is Sitch etc. battling with the Public Servants such as the Secratary of the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet over Public Service entitlements to diplomatic postings.

Replace Sitch etc. wth Jim Hacker, Dorothy Wainwright and Frank Weisel than you have Yes Minister and Yes Prime Minister to a tee in last night's episode.
