Not a call that could be made by the Chief Exec of SANFL - this would need to go before the full AFL Commission.

In the words of several ex Port Adelaide players, "be very afraid". Northern Power is the future of the club and he along with the SANFL will do all they can to disbandoned the Magpies.

Enjoy Port Adelaide while it lasts, because all we seem to be doing as members is sit on our hands and watch the demise of our club.

It was a great journey...while it lasted.

Rucci has written that the AFL have their own person in mind and Port were advertising nationally just last weekend.

I would be surprised if there is a decision next week. And the AFL who have already thwarted at least one SANFL takeover hold the purse strings.

I would say this is on the money. The SANFL aren't the big player in this game. Just because they want their man in doesn't mean they're going to get it.

Well we have dodged the first bullet.

Maybe, but he was a fair douchebag during his tenure at the PAMFC - the chief architect of the pretend Port/real Port wedge we're all still paying for.

At least I suppose he understands that the history and tradition is massively important and making sure we don't move away from it will be a priority.

The problem is that he thinks the history and tradition lies with the SANFL club and that the PAFC in the AFL is only tangentially related.

These guys are businessmen not supporters. They believe in what is best for the organisation they work for. Richardson works for the Power so whatever he can do in the few weeks he sits in the chair as acting CE will be in the Power's interests.

In reality he will sign a few cheques and keep the seat warm.

"The process to select our next chief executive is well under way and will follow the same searching and thorough guidelines we used to select our senior coach last year."

So, I guess that Matthew Richardson already has the job sewn up?

Having seen that little grinning spud head atop a Norwood tie at half time of yesterday's game I think I'd throw up if Thomas was handed the position.

Port have said that they are more interested in someone with corporate background, so instead of a US assistant coach why not a US CE? Someone who has no forelock tugging background with the SANFL, no preconceptions about the club or its relationships with the SA establishment, and who has been raised on the mean corporate streets to fight tooth and nail for everything?

Obviously we won't be offering magical money but still CE of a major national sporting organisation on your CV is not to be sneezed at.

Yes, listening to his interview at half time caused a little bit of vomit to find its way to my mouth. His interview went something along the lines of "....SANFL, blah, blah, Norwood, SANFL....blah....SANFL,SANFL...we, Norwood, blah blah, SANFL...."

DO NOT WANT!!
