don’t you need to pick a side to become the leader tp? think that applies to both major parties.

can’t believe the libs are so bereft of talent they elevate someone so politically new and disloyal to pesutto

i’ve been critical of crozier but credit to her for her loyalty to pesutto.
Crozier is a moderate, she's also got brains and knows they had the momentum on their side and they have now pissed it up the wall because this is what they do. Why would any moderate/centrist style politician in the Liberal Party put their hand up from now on if this is the end result of it.

What ae the chances of someone within the Liberal Party leaking info and damaging Brad Battin's hopes of being Victorian Premier between now and election day 2026?

not a great start for the new opp leader judging by ‘the age’ piece today. says one thing but votes a different way. watch what they do, not what they say.

Who’s a conservative? Battin opens up on abortion, tax and past votes on key issues

In his first sit-down interview as opposition leader, Brad Battin says he relied on his party’s right faction for support, but that doesn’t mean he’s from the party’s conservative wing.

The leader of the party of self interest admits to doing anything to serve his self own interest.
I’m shocked to be sitting here.

In other words the religious nutters have him by the plumbs.

in a herald $cum exclusive, prayer room boy has vowed to rip up plans for the proposed dan andrews statue

expect there have been a few terse phone exchanges between battins new media chief and the hate hydrants at the herald $cum over this ..... another story on it has dropped just now

of course, this could all be laundry cleaning by battins team - using his PR team at newscorp to bleach clean any and all sticky issues in advance of labor going to town on his 'moderate' credentials*

* yeah - we all believe your a 'moderate' braddles ..... LOL

No surprise to see that the Herald Sun and the Australian will be backing Brad Battin's Coalition team in the 2026 Victorian election. But it will be interesting to see who the Age and the Guardian Australia will go for.

I chuckled at this story the other day, with the Libs trying to bag the Government for not bidding for the Rugby World Cup.

Literally, who gives a shit?

And wouldn't they have bagged the government if they'd thrown money at hosting second-rate games of a third-rate sport?

Melbourne rebels shut down. But they are a new franchise which never took off. English super league Salford is kaput (RL though)

The Werribee and Prahran by-elections is the first big test for new Liberal leader Brad Battin. If the Liberals can win both of them, Labor is in real trouble, and many within the Labor camp would probably start talking up about a leadership challenge against Premier Jacinta Allen.

A swing of up to 9% is predicted in Werribee, which won't be enough for Libs to win the seat that the ALP has held since 1979, i.e., 46 years.

Libs are not expected to win Prahran, although the former ALP sitting member and now independent preferencing the Libs over Greens could make it interesting

Prahran is an interesting seat.

It has swung both ways for a long time. Hibbins holding it for 10 years is the longest since Sam Loxton for the Libs from 1955 to 1979.

Yes, THAT Sam Loxton, who kicked 114 goals for St Kilda in 41 games.

He was then a reserve tank commander in WW2 before playing as an invincible with Bradman for 14 tests including the famous unbeaten tour of England.

He won the first Prahran election thanks to DLP preferences as well as leading Prahran to their first Premier cricket victory with 129 runs and 7 wickets in the final in the lead-up to the election which he won by 14 votes.

I love cricket and the Australian team.

I love the St Kilda Football Club.

I am a member of the Victorian Liberal Party.

Sam Loxton is my idea of a top bloke.

Loxton's ALP opponent in the 1967 state election? Captain Blood himself, Jack Dyer.

Federally covered by labor seats
