And again, 40 bucks for Speed Champs is pretty outrageous.

I think I'll be waiting on sales for all of these, they aren't going to be hard to find. I think the last big F1 release coincided with someone (Amazon? Target?) having a lego sale on at the time, so they were discounted on day 1.

There were a whole other bunch of announcements too, which I believe are being released on the "Lego City" branding - a pit stop, a garage, a truck, some of these include various cars of different sizes and some minifigs.

They've gone balls deep in this partnership.
Yep there are posts out there showing the new City range. Speed Champions are regularly available for sub-$30 and they are great little builds at that price.

My Nightmare Before Christmas order got deleted because the PayPal pay in 4 option expired.

Now I don't get the books are my passion free gift.
Pretty angry and upset but I will live.
That's pretty poor on their part. Surely they can leave your order in situ and ask you for a new payment method? They do seem to be recycling GWPs more often how, perhaps it'll come back. Keep an eye on the Stores too, they work on a different cadence with these things.

Oh, I know all about the Speed Champs, they're my affordable little guilty pleasure when I just want a quick, fun build. I have a cabinet full of the little bastards!

According to Jay's Brick Blog there is an amazon US exclusive pack with all 10 Speed Champions models. Doesn't say whether it'll be available here but it's possible that'll be orderable via amazon AU.

I wonder if it'll even end up being cheaper, I saw it somewhere before and immediately thought "that's the collectible piece".

Insiders Weekend starts at midnight tonight:
  • Double points on all purchases
  • Retro Record Player GWP for purchases over $400 all themes (stacks with below)
  • Holiday Train GWP for purchases over $280 all themes
  • Holiday craft set for purchases over $105 SELECTED themes
  • % off discounts on selected sets
  • Insiders Points "specials" - some items 100 points

A few sets are available for back order (eg Nightmare Before Christmas) or pre-order (eg LOVE sign) if there's nothing in the current portfolio that excites you. All things being equal I think I'll order both of those to get the GWPs.

So I could buy the Endurance +$1 and get a free record player?
Yes (well, potentially), but not until next Friday. Officially the GWPs are only available this weekend, but in the past if there's been sufficient stock, they are also made available on BF weekend too.

You will get the lifeboat if you buy Endurance on BF (again, while stocks last, which they may not - this is a beauty).

To be on the safe side you'd need to spend $400 this weekend and the same next weekend for Endurance. As a reward for my restraint in recent months I have financial authorisation to do this ;).

Apologies for the spam, but have just seen that LEGO Super Mario: Mario and Yoshi (71438) is on sale from The Gamesmen on eBay for $128.06 if you have eBay Plus. I love this set, even not being an officionado of the genre. It's a fun build, the animation is perfect and displayed it's just joyful.

I watched a review of Endurance. Flattened me out a little bit, it didn't look that impressive to me once it was built :(
The reviews I've seen pitch it against Titanic, which is understandable if a tad unfair. I suspect it's one of those sets you have to see built.

The first two ships in Lego's "British Shipwrecks of the 1910s" Theme ;).

Guess who's going to receive the Botanical Gardens in probably a week or two

Jay's Brick Blog review swayed me, it seems utterly delightful. It probably won't receive a discount any time soon, if ever.

I had a few Insider points to use, plus I will also flog off both GWPs on FB marketplace easily enough so effectively it's like well under $400 instead of $500, right?

The Treehouse is a fine build and it's getting an Insiders discount, would thoroughly recommend to anyone who is still on the fence about it.

Botanical Gardens does look like a great set, but I just struggle with the price. Yeah if you have some points it softens the blow a bit and the GWPs help too. I'm just not sure it offers a whole lot more than the Friends one, which I think I paid about $80 for. Unfortunately almost all the reviews you see are sponsored, so it's hard to see what really stands out.

Yeah if you don't keep your GWPs, these can often fetch in excess of $80 each on the aftermarket so that can significantly sweeten the deal.

Agree with you on the Treehouse, and that's probably not going to be around for much longer. The A-Frame Cabin is worth a look too, but I don't think it was as interesting a build as the Treehouse.

Not sure what I'll get now - my original plan to pre-order the LOVE sign has been thwarted by the fine print (no GWPs on pre-orders).

And I don't have a spare $300 because I bingled my car and have to pay the $1000 excess next week to get her fixed grrrrrr
That sucks, hope you ok

Whatever helps justify my impulse buy about two minutes into Insiders Weekend. I just kept the ultra rare themed ones (eg Eiffel Tower, Lion Knights Castle).

Expect a similar impulse buy when Endurance is released, the GWP looks far too good to pass up and $400 (before Insiders points discount) is reasonable enough. That's a GWP I will keep to assemble and display with Endurance.

I will of course assemble Botanical Gardens and give a non-sponsored review for the benefit of BigFooty
