I'm hoping this one comes back, as many have this year.

So there's a chance that Shackleton's Lifeboat could come back?

It's putting a hell of a lot of pressure on the decision re the Endurance... I'm kind of thinking that it has to be THursday night or not at all, it's not worth it to me without the lifeboat cos it's such a major part of the story.

I guess the record player could encourage me if it's still available.

Am I an idiot? Why can't I find where to redeem points for vouchers?

I also notice that the Merceds Technic F1 is going down to 149 at Target for Black Friday. Bummed that I paid about 230 for it months ago and it's still sitting here.

Debating whether to buy with maxed Insiders discounts (bringing it down to roughly $350) or to buy $400 worth of stuff anyway just to get a second lot of GWPs.

So if you use reward points that get you below the title, you no longer qualify for GWPs right?

I have to buy something this week, I have about 70 bucks worth of vouchers about to expire.

Someone suggest me something in the $71 range?

The Lifeboat is unlikely as it's tied to a specific set. I just hope they've got an accurate forecast of sales of Endurance and have stocked accordingly.

However, the Ulysses Satellite I mentioned earlier did actually come back (much) later as there was so much angst in the community regarding its unavailability, and it, too, was tied to a single set (the Space Shuttle).

Nope, you're seeing things right. The interface has changed so that if you want a points discount you actually just specifiy this at checkout (not sure exactly how as I haven't done it myself). You no longer create vouchers.

Not sure how this works with the planned BF offer of cheap $7.50 vouchers, I assume these are codes just like they have been in the past (they did the same offer last year - you were able to buy up to four of these for 25% of the normal points, effectively getting a $30 voucher for the cost of a $7.50 one).

Does Target have any other BF sets? 50% off the Mercedes F1 is a good deal, it's a good build.

Cheers for the advice. Might be interesting to check out those vouchers...

Can't help you with any other Target deals unfortunately, it was just a preview of what they're showing OnePass customers for Black Friday, and I'm not a member.

Yes, the threshold is based on the total amount you pay after discounts.

There are three Speed Champions double sets at $75 - Merc, BMW and Aston Martin, if there's any of these you don't already have. These are often available at retail for about $55, so you're paying a little more.

Stayiong with the Technic car theme, the Bugatti Bolide is $80. There's the upscaled Lego Minifigure also at $80 which is a lot of fun (and not available elsewhere).

Can anyone who is a member shed some light on this please? Ta

I’m a member and can’t see any Lego in the preview, so obviously looking in wrong spot 🤷‍♂️

One sale I did see is $20 for a 12 month one pass membership, but not available to existing members…

Have stopped buying lego in recent times (due to having 2 boys 18 months apart) but was gifted the Senna McLaren for my birthday last night.

Very much looking forward to that build.
Sounds like it's time to start your sons' Lego journey with some Duplo sets for Christmas. If that's too soon for them, the F1 Duplo will be here in January :thumbsu:

got Jaws for my birthday, no Titanic build but i still enjoyed it, the bow of the ship seemed a bit flimsy, came apart a few times during the build, you can have the shark as complete shark or how i have it displayed

Target has some good Black Friday deals.

F1 Technic Mercedes RRP 295 down to $149
Simba RRP 199 down to 129
The Kawasaki motorbike rrp 95 is down to 59, which is interesting cos I'd recently started looking at it.
The Creator Flowers in watering can are rrp 48 down to $24

Kmart doesn't have much

Lego Creator Main street rrp 199 down to 99
Star Wars T-6 Jedi Shuttle rrp 110 down to 49

Big W is barely even having a sale...

Toymate has the Team NZ yacht rrp 199 down to 139, which I've been close to picking up a few times.
Elsa's Ice Palace is also rrp 169 down to 99. (Toymate has a fair bit of stuff on sale, it's just not that cheap.)

So the highlight of the day remains Endeavour... which I still can't decide if I want or not. This is going to be an impulse purchase (or not) at midnight.

It'll be midnight, right? They won't screw us like they did with the F1 announcements last week?

Cheers for the update, and yes, you do want Endurance, and you are going to stay up until midnight to get it, just as I am :).

Regarding the timing, who knows. There have been some previous "midnight" releases which have gone early (from 11pm) and some which don't appear until well into the following day. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I imagine the Certified Stores will have it too, but I haven't seen anything to that effect. They do tend to stick to the midnight timing.

EDIT : Just checked, the Stores are also launching Endurance at midnight, but they don't (yet) mention the Lifeboat.

It's a shame that the Lego site is so damn expensive compared to everywhere else, especially during Black Friday.

I couldn't find anything in that $70-90 price range that I wanted, and that was reasonable priced, to 1) get me over 400 and 2) let me use the vouchers.

I guess there's a chance there'll be other discounted sets available, but they haven't said anything about that possibility.

Another update (it seems they are trickle feeding their page). Now confirmed from midnight is the Record Player and Train GWPs, same threshold as Lego.com, so you have a choice of sites from which to order. I think they'll also have stock in at least some stores if you want to take the risk and go in early.

Do you have any experience with how the certified stores handle it? Will their sites update at midnight with stock, or will that not happen til they open in the morning?

I'd kind of love to be at Doncaster or Knifepoint at 9am tomorrow if I could walk away with the Endurance and 3 GWPs.

Have never purchased day 1 from the store online, and the only time I tried in a physical store, they never had any stock of the subject set to begin with.

The site says from midnight online or from opening in the morning. It does say stocks of the Lifeboat are limited in store, but it doesn't say how limited. My guess is if you turned up a little before opening time you'd probably be OK, depending on how many others have $400 in their pockets and can't live without the set.

They've just said on the news that Australians will spend something like $6bn this weekend. Unfortunately they didnt elaborate as to what Lego's cut of that might be ;).

Probably going to be safer to get it from the official lego website?

Part of me is considering a click and collect from a certified store, but I don't imagine they'll be guaranteeing GWPs online.
