I don't think it'll be a particularly satisfying build, but I settled on Artemis for this weekend's purchase. I'm a bit of a Lego "real" space completionist so I guess it was inevitable eventually. Haven't seen it discounted so took the plunge. I'll use the points (hopefully they get credited by then) for a discount on Endurance.

Was going to go with Nightmare before Christmas but to be honest I don't really need any more Christmas sets and I'm not familiar with the source material. Hopefully when Neese is able to get her car sorted she'll be able to pick it up and review it here.

The advent calendars are on special ($42) at lego.com at the moment. Haven't seen them lower than this anywhere yet.

Took the plunge and paid EBay prices for Mos Eisley Cantina the other week, now it comes back in the Lego store šŸ˜¢šŸ˜¢

Almost tempted to buy another to sell later, along with the GWPs
Yeah I've noticed a few older sets (eg Lambo Sian) turn back up at lego.com lately. I thought that retired years ago.

Home Alone is also still listed.

Hope you do OK with your resell plan.

(PS If you're interested in the Technic Supercars and don't have any of them, for me the Sian would be the pick. The Ferrari didn't really offer anything new, and the McLaren P1 doesn't really appeal visually)

From my experience the points appear as soon as Lego dispatches it, so fingers crossed you get it well before Friday.

Completely agreed. As a bonus, I resold my well used Lambo for half the price I paid for it, I consider it a win to be able to assemble and display the best looking Technic supercar imo for a few years for the net sum of only $250.

The only other one I would have liked was the original Porsche but that goes for astronomical amounts nowadays.

I bought this from Target three years ago for $369. What's the going rate now about $700? And Passenger Train 60197 for $119. I should really look at Target more often. I think I picked this up from Target too (below), would have been under $100. Target is a gold mine on the rare occasions they actually have something good and what is advertised online is actually available at any stage.

Target is pretty good, if they have stock. Big W not too bad either, but can go out of stock pretty quickly. I got the Millennium Falcon from Target for a very, very good deal and a few fly buys points to boot!

Teaser for BF now on the Lego site. It includes both the Record Player and the Holiday Train GWPs, as well as a discounted voucher offer. That suggests that if you buy Endurance and another small item (eg a keyring) you'll get three GWPs and a small discount if you have some points.

Great, I guess Botanical Gardens didn't really need to be purchased last weekend - but I guess double points is still nice.

And there was always going to be a risk that the GWPs sold out. On the plus side you have some points to spend this weekend, and you can always sell the extra GWPs.

My guess is if you do get the Lifeboat you'll be able to sell it very easily. I think it'll be highly collectible.
Noted. If I get a couple of sets CP, does that qualify me to get both gwpā€™s?
Iā€™m after the botanical garden as well but happy to go endurance and a smaller set - could that work as long as itā€™s over a certain amount?

As far as I understand it, buying $400 worth of stuff (Endurance is $399 so you need one more to tip it over) gets you both the GWPs, plus the Lifeboat obviously. I was concerned it might run out, hence I bought Botanical Gardens last weekend, turns out it wasn't a concern.

Ok this is good news. I really like that turntable. Lifeboat is awesome too. Thanks for your reply FP. šŸ‘šŸ»

For what it's worth I think you did the right thing. I also purchased last weekend when I needn't have, but the double points is handy, and you can always sell the extra GWPs.

And of yours you have the Botanical Gardens to build. Should be a beauty.

I'd suggest getting online as close to midnight as possible for this one (easier for our friends in the west of course!), as I suspect the lifeboat will go quickly. Lego are better with GWPs now, I recall one (the Ulysses satellite) that sold out in 15 minutes.

Debating whether to buy with maxed Insiders discounts (bringing it down to roughly $350) or to buy $400 worth of stuff anyway just to get a second lot of GWPs.

I might build during the lead up to Christmas and post a step by step review here, to at least help you decide whether to purchase without a risk of bias or corruption by Lego.

My guess (and it is just a guess) is that the GWPs will fetch more than $50 on the secondary market. I think the record player is definitely one of the better recent ones.
