Definitely interested in this one. Might be a bit big for me, and also I don't understand why there's no Robin?
It's alot bigger than I thought it was going to be after 2 bags built, I don't understand that either, needed to have both Batman and Robin

went to the Lego store and was hoping to get Jaws, they didn't have it in stock, but did end up getting the new Batmobile, with all the points I had built up over time, it only cost me half price

Might be my next purchase as soon as this weekend. There's a replica Batmobile doing the rounds that's also got me interested!!

Anyone picking up any of the October releases? I guess I'll get the Santa's Post Office, although they've done a Post Office before, and with this one the delivery truck is a separate $30 set. Sneaky. Recent WV sets have been a bit meh in my opinion.

I had hoped that Mona Lisa would be worth getting.

She turned out absolutely terrifying.

Lol this is my hesitation in building my last few purchases... oddly enough I can display the actual Lego boxes just fine.... finding space after a build is the issue!
Yeah boxes can be stacked in the corner. Harder to do with built sets ;). I'm getting to the stage now where just about every build gets packed up straight away which kinda defeats the purpose. And it's nearly time to get the Christmas Village back out...

Ha yes, I have space in mind I just need to declutter the area. It can be done I'm just being lazy about it. But unless there are other nostalgia bait sets (eg: If they re-release or update the 89 Batmobile with even more detail I'd find it impossible to not buy it)...

I really do think I'll stop buying them and just google everyone else's pictures in the future.

Anyone interested in a build review of Mario & Yoshi? Ordered that on a whim, not sure if it's going to be all that interesting to build TBH.

PICTURES ASAP

I popped into a Lego store after work. Saw the Batcave in a box, the Animated Series Gotham skyline mural, JAWS, the '66 Batmobile AND.... Mario & Yoshi - pretty much did the Vince McMahon losing the plot gif after each discovery LOL.

I keep slapping my hand away from the purchase button.
$200 seems a bit steep for a small block number, although it looks amazing

I started building the Senna McLaren months ago. Then I fostered a dog, and that particular dog just wasn't conducive to being able to build lego.

I came back to it today, I like how these different sizes and styles of F1 cars make for interesting builds. This one in particular is one of those that has a couple of slightly technical elements that make you grin when they finally all fit together.

Dunno know whether I'll continue to be a completist now that Lego have done a deal with F1, cos they can get a bit same-same at the Speed Champions scale. And I still have the Aston Martin and the Technic Mercedes untouched. (They're the last 2 sets I bought, months and months ago.)

Great Wave is another that's sitting here and I'm keen to build... but beyond that, I think the "plants" and the Friends sets (the tv show) are probably destined for the secondary market at some point, I just don't see myself building them.

Set 71438 - Mario & Yoshi, 1215 pieces RRP $200. Something of a departure from the usual Mario sets, as the pixellation fondly recalled from the original games is for the first time the main feature of the product. In that way it possibly has more in common with the Minecraft sets than Mario. There's a short backgrounder in the (thankfully, paper) instructions for those not familiar with the game upon which this set is based. On the surface, it's not particularly well priced for the piece count, but it is already available at a discount (By way of a comparison, the Piranha Plant has 540 pieces and an RRP of $95, so it's possibly not out of line).

My biggest concern with it before starting is that the pixellation may be very well done, but will make the subject matter unrecognisable when complete. Haven't seen it built but the pictures don't fill me with confidence.

The set contains 15 numbered bags (many of which are quite small, with the largest ones at the beginning to build the base), two un-numbered bags and instruction book. No stickers.

Bag 1 builds the base - 24 x 12 studs. Straightforward techniques here, lots of diffierent colours so difficult to make a mistake (unless you're me :$). Bag 2 adds the beginning of the "walking" mechanism and the bright green backdrop of the base. There's also an action tile which apparently plays music when the Mario, Luigi or Peach figures walk over it, but I haven't tested that yet. I don't think this is going to be a long or complicated build.

EDIT : was surprised that it's in plastic bags, being brand new. Further, there are so many of them for a relatively small model. This seems to be a trend, was the same for Notre Dame.

Bag 4 builds the support tower on top of that 4x4 grey plate. The model is now about 30cm high, it's bigger than I expected. There's a satisfying amount of technic to build the walking mechanism, which finishes up very smooth. Nothing complicated though.

Bag 5 builds Mario's feet to attach to the walking mechanism. The effect is awesome and quite realistic - definitely one of those build steps that make you smile. This set is exceeding my expectations so far.

Where im at:

In new place
Massive move
Hate moving
Nothing Lego related set up
All either;
A. Built and stashed in boxes, who knows what they look like but at least all pieces are in box
B. Broken down in zip locks in box
C. Still in new packaging, in box, (the bigger boxes far end)

Have to catalogue new in box as forgot what we have, so gotta start digging
🙄🙄

I started giving shit away over the last few weeks. Yeah, it's too expensive to give away - but a mate's daughter is having a really rough time at school, so she got the little flowers in pots, while another friend had a death in the family and was planning on buying the orchids to take her mind off it anyway, so she got the orchids that were sitting my cupboard.

Hopefully it's some good karma at least.

Just found 7 speed champs, small london architecture, Trex fossil and a small city set all boxed

Kids down the road are getting a box of my hotwheels
See, moving isnt so bad after all :p. Hope you've got enough space to display everything once it's built. I'm already at the stage where it's "one in, one out".
