Coincidentally, this is also what it looks like when Gerard Whateley writes his name with a selection of Crayola inserted in his rectum.

The only 5 coaches who have been in the seat longer than Hinkley are Clarkson, Hardwick, Longmire, Scott and Buckley - 4 premiership coaches and 1 who made the GF last year and is top 4 again this year.
But old mate has got us to the lofty heights of 10th in 3 of the last 4 years, so there's that.
That last sentence...Our leading goal kicker in 2019 was a 1st year small forward with 29 goals.
It was the equal 2nd lowest total of goals to win the award since 1952.
Since 2014, our leading goal kicker award has been won by small forward 4 times out of 5.

Well that's one list we aren't 9th or 10th. Club probably proud of not falling into that category again.Update heading into 2020.

One can look the Hinkley Era from any perspective. The conclusion is always the same. It is an era of "positive mediocrity": almost never bad; a few times good; most time average.
Out of curiosity, attached is our seasons since 2013 divided by thirds (games 1-7, 8-15, 16-22).

I didn't say we weren't bad. We have been mostly "meh," with more good games than bad ones in-between - even though there could be more "really bad" than "really good."Which games have you been watching?

#sackhinkleyThese stats are astounding how more supporters don’t know!!!
This postI have made some research on our record under Hinkley. I have broken down the seasons in parts, patches of 3 and 6 games. I went just to 18 because this season only has 17 minor-round matches. We usually start strong. The issue is later on. From match #7 to match #18, we have played roughly 50% football since 2013.
3 games
1-3: 18-6 (75%)
4-6: 15-9 (62.5%)
7-9: 11-13 (45.8%)
10-12: 14-10 (58.3%)
13-15: 11-10 (52.4%)
16-18: 11-10 (52.4%)
6 games
1-6: 33-15 (68.75%)
7-12: 25-23 (52.1%)
13-18: 22-20 (52.4%)
I don't have the record for our last 4 games of the season. I believe RussellEbertHandball has it, though.

Opinion - 4 seasons in a season
I have been meaning to write this thread for about 4 or 5 years but never got around to it. To me there are 4 distinct parts to a footy season that year in year out footy fans and commentators, even the ones who have played the game at AFL level, seem to forget and project forward the good and...www.bigfooty.com
