Falconista is more scientific than that. Just need to get him out of Crown first. The octopus has escaped, hasn't it?
Congratulations and welcome to an elite club.
That is a fair assessment of my piece FalconistaView attachment 1862029
As alluded to in the middle of the night, Chef Falconista has been cooking up his adjudication and has presented his findings. So without any further ado, here are the results of the McInnes Prize for season 36. Over to you Mr Dalton...

Firstly, I’d like to thank all those who submitted an entry this season. The revised formula of speed shoopin’ makes things a touch more challenging but you’ve met that challenge well. The lack of Gozleme recommendations was a disappointment meaning no one got the ‘Golden Goz’ bonus and I actually had to use merit to judge this. I know, ew!
OK, niceties out of the way, let’s judge.

16. Bonz: Rocket
Bonz’s famed comic book style of storytelling comes to the fore in this piece. There are sexy legs, a Turbo cameo and a quest for world domination. Yet it feels a little off, as if Bonz/Team Rocket would choose a nose, of all parts of the body, to brand.
15. grumbleguts: Cinema
This artwork depicts an empty cinema about to show the full OOB 12 second highlight reel. The emptiness of the cinema said to represent the Old Boys’ lack of supporters. One wonders if perhaps tickets were sold for the event, however judging by their recent bookkeeping, the tickets were printed with the wrong time, wrong day and wrong damn cinema on them.
14. Tigerturbulance: Draft
This is without doubt the toughest piece to evaluate. It has about as much link to ‘draft’ as the Gumbies do to ‘international superclub’. It is a visually striking piece with a lot of Sweet FA Easter eggs thrown in. Abstract art is a divisive artform and sadly for you Turbo, this boganista cannot get around it. Maybe after a few alcoholic drinks, it would be better appreciated (maybe that’s the link todraughtdraft..?)
13. thewizardmelon: Empire
A Dees drive-by in advertisement form. sante with their head in the snow and facepalming Gralin are fun additions. However one cannot overlook the false advertising, after their experience of Frosty and Pickitt in season 32, it will be a long time before the Demons recruit anyone nearly as young as the person shown.
12. Cadsky: Manufacture
This is a simple, clever shoop. However, it so far detached from reality, that absurdist art calls it cooked. Wigs would never be caught on a factory floor, nor indeed would he interact with the common folk. Wigs has lived a life of such privilege that the time he fetched his own lime for a gin and tonic, he described as his darkest day.
11. Gralin: Strike
Gralin and manangatang going ten pin bowling in their youth. Yep, I can see it. Judging by the fashions and colours, managatang and Gralin must be close to the pension age. So, congrats Roys, you’ll have a couple of new recruits soon. Speaking of fashions, bonus points were awarded for Gralin’s pants, however, points were docked for manangatang’s shirt.
10. Elton Johns Wig: Chest
Well done to Wigs for keeping this clean. This admin-elect identified that chest is a homonym and took the approach of fashioning himself into an explorer at the precipice of a discovery. Points have been deducted as we all know the admin chest would be much more salubrious than the image displayed.
9. Grav: Damage
The shoop does plenty of talking as Grav desires. It depicts the Bombers’ dissatisfaction with the recent admin election by using Captain Carlton and a famous screenshot from the film The Dark Knight. You can connect the dots on this effective shoop.
8. Dinsdale: Robot
Three robotic pantskyle s! What more do I need to say?.... Ok, fiiiiiiiiine Bob.
Dinsdale's piece provides a glimpse into the Sweet Dungeon Data Centre in a piece of expressionism that is to be applauded.
7. Chat Pile: Flesh
Combining Chat Pile and a theme of flesh was always going to generate something stylistically different. Visually, it’s a striking image of a giant, flesh-eating, TIF monster terrorising a young Sweet FA member to appease his hunger for media pieces. It satisfies the theme, is visually striking and is brilliantly witty.
6. Frederico_WA: Sour
Making an advert for the super-sour confectionary Warheads was a simple and effective way to fulfill the brief. Referencing Cadsky’s EKA rant and Senor M’s moments in the narrative was cleaver. So, why oh why Fred, did you use Tonga’s pic in the ad?
5. spudmaster: Privilege
Oh how prophetic this piece turned out to be! Created when the Warriors sat in the top-two on the ladder, spud correctly surmised that like most other seasons, the sim would find a way to ‘shaft’ the Warriors. The use of The Matrix as the inspiration is genius as the Warriors mirror Keanu Reeves- sexy once with hope in their eyes which rapidly deteriorated to slightly unwell looking with unemotive eyes and an air of desperation.
4. tony: Circumstance
tony is renowned in the Sweet community for their brilliant, elaborate and talented shoops. On this occasion, they’ve gone simple and it’s still as sharp as a scalpel. It tells the story of ‘Destiny’s Junction’ whereby the Bears have thrown off the Broken curse and are speeding towards finals. The circumstance of Broken’s retirement turning tough times into Bears triumph.
3. Fleabane: Tycoon
This is one superb piece of shoopage. It nails the theme of tycoon by mimicking a Forbes/BRW, complete with quotes and precis. The integration of a number of different dogs lounging with fresh steaks and snacks, with their three human companions forced to sit on the floor is a delight. I, for one, welcome our new canine overlords.
2. PMBangers: Revolution
Bangers has created a piece of art that superbly represents the theme of revolution by mimicking a propaganda poster. The ‘doppelganger’ has a familiar quality but is just obscure enough to hedge bets. Visually it is a lively and colourful piece and from the lapels on the jacket, the revolutionary leader is clearly to the left of the political spectrum which feels right for BigFooty.
1. JoshWoodenSpoon: Sensation
Cleverly subverting the theme of his piece from ‘sensation’ to ‘Kensation’, JWS has created this season’s McInnes prize winner. It’s depiction of Admin Ken dolls being in the bargain bin references contemporary topics such as the admin race and the recent movie Barbie. It is not a sad piece though, as in the spectre of the misery of an unsuccessful admin bid, people are still seeking to have a piece of Ken in their life. Thus, proving there is still value and desirability toDenKen.
