Didn't McDermott even retire from SANFL in 1997? But is bitter about being delisted by an AFL club 6 months earlier? Hmm.

Captain-Coach of North (of all teams!).

Played a handful of games before donning the stonewash jeans and taking a swipe at a fan who got too close to the Topherzone.

Jay Weatherill was interviewed before the V8 Supercar race on Sunday and the Channel 7 interviewer specifically mentioned Jay is a Port Adelaide (note he didn't say Port Power) supporter before going onto talking about Adelaide Oval and the Showdown.

Yes I know boo hiss politician supporting Port but it yet again gets us front and centre for a national audience with info that would have been supplied by Jay's media unit.

Jay stood with the Cheer Squad at the Geelong final for at least half the game. Ridiculously well dressed to have done so, otherwise part of the mob. May have done so at the Collingwood final too for all I know, I wasn't able to get over for that one.

Stevie Marshall is a Port supporter too (although he has swapped to the Redlegs for political reasons)

LOL at the swearing filter ruining your post.

Tom Jonas was on 5AA, most of it was your usual club propaganda, however he did drop that the players this year had set a record number of personal bests for both weights and running.

Said we were aiming to start quicker, rather than coming back in the last quarters.

Was also asked by Rowe how they're going to cope with "every other team seeing what you did fitness wise last year and catching up". TJ replied, "well we think we've taken it up yet another notch for this season".

Rowe is 100% right. Last year, Port became the first team in AFL history to try to work on their fitness. Now other teams will copy our brilliant idea of bothering to get fit and we'll sink to the bottom of the ladder now that our players can't run around teams consisting entirely of chain-smoking hot dog eaters. :(
