Stop whingeing everyone. It’s the supporters fault club management jumped at shadows in 2017 and extended Hinkley’s contract a year before they even needed to look at it.

Because the system is ****ed, which is my point.Spending ... but getting value?
An AFL club is a business. When you are cash strapped like Port has been for over a decade you need to become creative with any dollars you earn. Port have been 'living on a prayer' for too long.
It might be time to issue Port Club Bonds (REH help me out here) - I am cash poor but would contribute $1000 for no return for 5 years if it meant stabilising the Port ship.
Got a feeling we are in a crisis.
Because the system is f’ed, which is my point.
There has to be some investment. A club with 50k members and 30k crowd averages should not be in trouble in ANY league, let alone one like the AFL where spending is capped.
Until the SANFL takes its hands out of the Adelaide Oval treasury the club will always be in peril.
No other club has to deal with it.
If say, $6 from every $10 pint went to Port Adelaide we’d be laughing.

He was born on an Aboriginal reserve on the banks of the Murray on NSW side but most of his youth he spent in Victoria is my understanding..Nicholls was from NSW.
The Port board have turned into a bunch of entitled whinging Millennials.

Blaming customers for not turning up rather than improving your business is absolutely not a trait of 'millennials'.
Our debt/lack of financial stability is an interesting topic.
Blaming the supporters is as ridiculous as it is simplistic. Don't we have the most "engaged" supporter base in the league? ie conversion from supporter to member is either the best or in the top 3 in the league? Blaming the supporters is completely barking up the wrong tree.
If the club have no idea why they are losing members then they really need to have a good hard look at themselves. If they instead take the word of numpties in the media who actually have no idea like this Lee Gasket bloke then we are truly doomed.
I imagine they know exactly why they're losing memberships, they just don't want to publicly admit it. That's why I liked KT's letter from a couple of weeks ago, even if some didn't. It was the first acknowledgment from anyone with any power at the club that maybe things weren't all hunky dory.

I also think blaming the SANFL/SMA for our stadium deal might be a little simplistic also. Yes they are complete campaigners but from what I understand our deal isn't the worst in the league. Food and beverage costs is another matter.
So what it comes down to is our sponsorship and corporates.
Port, unfortunately is a hard sell. We are second banana in the smallest mainland market. National Exposure is limited. In this market, Crows outnumber us probably 2-1. The Crows, because of this have the state media in their pocket. They are the safe option for any prospective company. The lack of Head offices here means the there is only so much at the top end of town to go around. I've been to functions where the Pirie Street Crowd are involved, where cufflinks and hyphenated names are standard, and it is just assumed that the room is completely full of Crows Supporters. This also has an effect on our gameday corporate opportunities too. The Crows are the default team. To me this is the area we struggle with most. Even Koch with his national TV exposure for the network that runs the game hasn't been able to solve.

What were these?? I reckon China played a fair part. This is how the $3.2m collected for membership fees one month earlier in October 2017 seemed to be spent on or used to cover shortfalls. So expenses and capital purchases blew out by $3m in 2017.
Actually forcing all board members to sit in different spots around the ground amongst the rank and file in the wind and cold for the last 2 rounds has a lot of merit.Nothing s**ts me more than people who have spent decades sitting behind glass in heated comfort with a full spread put on for them, judging those who pour their hard earned into the club every year and are forced to endure literal trauma because they love this thing that lets them down continually.
Haha. Fair call.m8. Blaming customers for not turning up rather than improving your business is absolutely not a trait of 'millennials'. You're a couple of generations off there.
