For anyone looking for pro-Freo stuff, Bridget Lacy appeared on the Duff and Quarters podcast yesterday.
They're usually pretty fair to Freo anyway, but having Bridget on there definately swung the ball in our favour this week. She's genuinely our biggest fan in the media atm.

Speaking of tipping, there’s an absolute knob in my tipping comp who hates freo so much that she tips against them every single week no matter what. Maybe that’s what Barrett is doing?
I am such a knob that I tip the dockers every week in the tipcomp (bit of superstition).
This year it will pay off, i was the only one to get it right in R5.

Barrett using the faux tough guy act with his overly critical assessment of Freo genuinely makes me laugh. Anyone that doesn’t see it for the headline grabbing floggery that it is should reconsider voting this year.

On another matter, an Eagles fan rang up 6PR and was slightly critical of the backmen receiving disposal numbers for their kick ins. Said that Hurn got 33 which won him the medal in the derby but 13 (?) of them were just kick ins. Wonder if he would have got the medal over Mundy with only about 20 listed disposals?
Always wondered. If you play on, is that counted as a disposal? That’s stat padding to the extreme.
Hurn does get a lot of cheap kicks though. Put him under pressure, he’s about the same as Gaff getting a contested possession. A snowflake
Simpson say they have a lot of foot/lower leg injuries. Other than Cox who did his in Canberra and might not even miss a game we don’t have any.
Maybe the eagles can play at a half demolished Subiaco Oval for the rest of the season if it’s so bad.

Mick Murray gave the Eagles short shift, by saying that the ground has been approved by the AFL ( within firmness standards ) and Eagles should be more interested in their team’s performance.

it used to be you had to kick it to yourself, then the next kick was counted... iirc joel bowden famously had himself as his dreamteam captain and was playing on every time he kicked out lol.
if its just run straight you get a stat they'll need to change that.

Hurn and to a lesser degree Tom Stewart are the only ones with significantly bigger numbers as a result of the rule changes iirc, Hurn is averaging 4+ more disposals/kicks a game
Thought he was average too. He wasn’t his usual best. So had overinflated numbers. Feel like they should not count the kick. I mean it’s 15 m head start, run up and hit a target. Disposal Efficency also goes up.
