As an alternative perspective to the usual BS pro-vic and pro-wc media we are used to have rammed down our throats.

From Duffield's twitter:

"Three questions everyone shld ask re Hogan: Can Melbourne win the flag next year? Yes. Then why are they pushing a potent forward like Hogan out? And can a forward pushed out in those circumstances possibly be worth two first round picks"

Channel 9 news really laid into Freo tonight saying we have really stuffed up and have no idea what we are doing and that Hogan will be taken by the eagles next year as a cover for the ageing Kennedy. He apparently has been over to see them as well. Also mentioned that we have offered Geelong pick 11 for Kelly

Duff is the best. And Gareth Parker offered some fair comments as well.

iLove to see where Eagles magically get picks better than 11 and 23 (our apparent Hogan offer) next year.
If they somehow do then man they have taken a tumble down the ladder and Hogan probably wouldn't go to them

The media response to this trade period highlights the worst aspects of he AFL Media. They all decide on a particular narrative and then run with it regardless of whether the facts match that narrative. Then they all compete with each other to see who can have the most hysterical and over the top reaction.

Then because they’re accountable to no one and judge everything based on nothing except the number of clicks they get. If we paid 2 x firsts for Hogan and then he came and ended up as a disaster, they’d all be writing about how the decision to give 2 x firsts was irresponsible and yet another example of Freo’s poor drafting/trading record.

You nailed it there Marty.

The same media will laud are effort for getting a good result, or laugh at us for only taking pick 5.

Everyone knows the trade period is too long, but the AFL wants it because they think it keeps the code in the limelight after Grand Final is over, right through trade week, now extended draft days and through to pre-season training reports.

Nothing much ever falls in place until the last 2 days of trade week, little has been uncovered this week despite how often we get told massive news is about to break and to fill in the daily bulletins occasionally a little something that is made up gets to be a story. (eg Someone set up a fake AFL trade account on twitter just to see if journos would report a fake story about Brad Crouch wanting a traded to Richmond - they did).

Its pretty safe for Vic journos to blame having nothing to write about this weekend on a team from outside their state. They won't have to worry about turning up to Fremantle press conferences or arranging interviews with Fremantle managers/ coaches where they might get a clip back in the media and they're not going to offend any local fans that might badger them in public about the stuff they've written.

Haven't we offended Jesse Hogan, Rory Lobb, Melbourne, GWS, Dawn Fraser, Scott Morrison, The Green, Julia Gillard, Paul Roos and Mike Sheehan with all our shennanigans?

After all the vitriol that was spewed on trade radio and in print from Friday, surely there is no coming back?

Lobb is staying.
Neale is staying.
Hogan is staying.

All because Fremantle wouldn't..... do what exactly?

The media are sheep, who don't deserve a human killing.

Trouble is, we are feeding the sheep instead of allowing them to wittle and die. It's a shame we can't give them foot and mouth disease.

Nearly crashed my car Sat morning. Just started driving to North Freo to pick up a new board and had 6PR on for the news but Hagdorn and Hardie were on talking trade week. Thought hear we go. Then Hagdorn starts defending Freo over not trading with Melbourne (hence nearly cleaning up the car in the next lane). (to paraphrase) Said it was Melbourne's fault not Freo's. Melbourne requested way more than was reasonable. He had heard they wanted "5, 6 and a player Cerra or Brayshaw". Said that Melbourne maintained their request after Freo's offer so Freo pulled out citing that the deal was too high. He would have done the same.

#creditwherecreditisdue

then Hardie started talking about (from his inside info that he didn't want to share since people had kept accusing him of making stuff up ) how the Beams issue arose quickly since he was umming and arrhing anyway since his Dad died, and that he missed on F and B for Brisbane after his year, particularly compared to the guy that won it. Apparently was disappointed/frustrated.

I have just read Karl I hate the Dockers Langdons tweet questioning our clubs charachter and the charachter of our draft picks
If some could put this up on the board it will make your blood boil (im old school and dont know how)
What a hypocrite and ignorant yellow maggot
Seems to suffer from short and long term memory loss
What a tool
Why do we have to put up with this ar## hole
