I don’t think I’ve ever seen an AFL president being as influential as Richard Pratt. A high success, high influence billionaire businessman, who is turning the Blues finances around at an amazing rate. It was just perfect timing. The Blues have acquired themselves a brilliant young list thanks to Hughes clever list management, have a sensational coaching team, and now billionaire backing. His positive influence has permeated throughout the Club. The Blues massive supporter base has returned, sponsorship dollars gaining momentum, and top executives clammer to be part of this inevitable wave of success at the Carlton Football Club. Pratt decided to employ the Pies CEO, Swann, because he wanted to. Eddie is small league compared to Pratt. While everyone wants to be part of the Carlton success story, by contrast at Collingwood the exodus has begun, as the Pies future is looking bleak because of lazy list management, and the depressing Malthouse-Buckley angry culture. Interesting comparing the influence of these 2 presidents. Eddie’s prominent media career, means that he is a extremely well known “public face”, but falls way short compared to Pratt in terms of business success, financial power and influence. :)

Well seeing as you're not taking this seriously neither will I, so my answer is Abraham Lincoln

obviously pratt has more power as money=power in modern society.....as far as running a football club, Eddie has proven he is the best without tipping a bucketload of cash into to 'set the wheels in motion' even though the club was at rock bottom on and off field

You lost absolutley all credibility with that statment!
I can admit Pratts tipped a bucket load in. But has raised more through his powerful associates and the board. Where as Eddie is the master in the form of bribery.

I thought I heard him say the other week in the after game interview he hadnt done that yet, and that he wanted carlton to get the money by themselves and use him only if they really needed it. But I'm not a carlton supporter so I dont know much about the situation.

Yeah the best think about Pratt is the fact he isn't doing it all by himself. His establishing a consistent Cashflow, but without doubt around his absence a substantial amount of money will be left on the bench.

And his put in 1mil+
Upgraded gym facilities and some other odd jobs.

Eddie? Hah.

He is a small fish compared to the power and influence Pratt has.

I remember on TFS when Eddie looked intimidated by Kennet when they interviewed him. McGuire was the biggest fish of presidents until Jeff showed up.

Now Pratt decides to lend a helping hand. By poaching Swan he's basically made McGuire very bitter it appears. As if to show him "look what I can do, I can take key people from right under your nose".

Eddie may be the CEO of 9, but he's not the biggest fish anymore.

Most Powerful?

In what area are we talking about? Is it power as in strength? If so Eddie by a mile, I'd like to see Pratt arm wrestle anyone.

If you're talking about money then it goes to Pratt obviously.

If the topic is referring to football matters then McGuire has the points on the board and Pratt hasn't done anything yet. Better to ask this question in two years time.

you carlton people have to get over your obsession with collingwood.we couldn't care less about you blokes.only the last 4 years have been good though

I must admit, Carlton look a lot better with Pratt at the helm. I just hope that the AFL doesn't become like the EPL where struggling clubs can just get a billionaire to make them viable again.
Hopefully thats not a stab at just Carlton as the likes of Essendon and Collingwood have been doing the same with Peter Jackson & Eddie Maguire respectively.

Pratt just does it better.
