This sort of thing has me questioning why I even bother with Netflix anymore.
Yeah, it's become a joke. They either cancel a series before its time, or if they do continue one, we have to wait 2-3 years to see the next season, and by that time, you've forgotten it.

Been watching The Menendez Brothers; now that's some effed-up shit. The abuse they suffered was off the charts, and it turned those guys into sociopaths.
We are only assuming they suffered abuse from their parents. No facts just stories. But if true was horrendous.

I think the way to do streaming services is 3-4 months of one them cancel and do the next. And you get back to your first one after a couple of years

I was reading where one of the Menudo singers (the ones Jose Menendez signed for RCA) claimed Jose drugged and r*ped him. So, while the series tries to skirt that line of whether it is true or if they are lying, that makes me think that the sexual abuse occurred.

For another perspective watch Episode 3 of Mastermind : Think Like a Killer where the Brothers get a piece through Ann Burgess analysing their story

I do think the brothers are putting a lot of Mayo on their claims, no doubt. They saw this as a way to get a reduced sentence. So, it's very possible that some of the things they claimed were untrue. But the sexual abuse they suffered from their father was true, IMO. But that still doesn't justify what they did, and I think their life sentence was appropriate.

I agree the sentence is appropriate because I dont think there was an appropriate trigger moment ( apart from when they pulled it ) to justify self defence

There was no battered wife syndrome where the woman grabs a knife to protect herself from the new beating etc

This was a planned event outside of any current or real threat

But having being 30 years removed from any thought outside they did it - it was an interesting perspective to look at

It genuinely was an interesting story but the brothers were their own worst enemy. Incredibly stupid and arrogant. I dont know what was false or true, these stories tend to embellish for ratings. The sex abuse stuff imo is fake. Too many coincidences to the book and the lawyers previous cases. That Lawyer if played accurately was trash.

I doubt it's fake. The cousin said she witnessed it when they were like 10 years old didn't she? Also if it was fake why would they kill them?

Don’t watch the NBA.
But I do love a good sports doco.
Halfway thru the starting 5 and absolutely loving it.
Even though I had only heard of Lebron loving the stories of all 5.

They covered it pretty well in the series. They read a book that outlines sexual assault via a trial, they had a lawyer who openly used the same sexual assault defense as her previous trial and the brothers openly admit to fake crying on the stand. They asked people to lie about it and state this, so the cousin is odds on to have lied. I know these days we are taught to believe victims first, but this is just outright lying. Many witnesses came forward and stated Jose was never the way the boys described.

The clear motive was the boys were being cut out of the will for being sub human beings and treating their parents like cash cows. As they were psychopaths they took it upon themselves to live it up. The problem with psychopaths is they manipulate and feel no empathy. They also think everyone else is stupid. The recordings for the book that Lyle made is all you need to know about how they think. There was no sexual abuse. The reason is they never acted ike sexual abuse victims. Children display many signs of abuse at school. They dont want to be touched, toileting issues, social issues. They did not have those problems as far as i can tell by the lack of witnesses.

However, I dont agree with the death penalty and thought the outcome was fair. If the chance even remote that they were sexually abused spare them their life.

Show was amazing. Those two chick's from Alpha were sociopaths
Just finished watching that and wholeheartedly agree. Don't remember ever seeing someone as deluded, hypocritical and sociopathic as that woman. She was dark and crazy AF!!

Bit slow but watching the Menendez brothers one. About 2/3rds of the way through.

Maybe just me but the sexual abuse claims just seem fabricated to me. I don't doubt the parents were over the top in their demands of the kids but it just seemed to me that the accusations came out when they most needed them to.

These boys seemed incredibly conniving and capable of this, after the trigger of being written out of the will.

We'll never truly know but in my opinion, Dad pushed them to breaking point through demanding the absolute best out of them, they were spoilt with everything they'd ever wanted really and when they realised they were getting cut off, they decided then to kill them. The way they did it was so cold and calculated - not a crime of opportunity per se.

The sexual abuse coming out when it did just feels like a hail mary right before the trial because it had dawned on them they were ****ed. Perfect for them really - creates doubt and has essentially kept them away from the death sentence.

I've been watching the Jeffry Dahmer series. God, it's effed up what that monster did. The actors all do a great job with a very difficult subject.
The Monsters one?

Clearly no debate about that one. He was insane.
