I think Manute has passed away? Plenty of others though with pituitary gland problems that we could get on board.
Yeh he did, Georghe is still alive though

Let's try to keep it on topic thanks.

Edit: Perhaps that sounded more gentle than it was intended since some posters are trying to push the boundaries. Off-topic posts will be deleted and repeat offenders will get a holiday.

Did you delete my explanation to that dockers supporter?

If so, i'll ask you to explain how exactly that's off topic, and how posting photos of tall basketball players isn't? Cooly, that would be swell.

Rosa? If he plays like he did first half of this year he will be in our best 22 for the next three years.

Priddis isn't going anywhere pre retirement. Gets to much of it to ever be dropped. It wont ever happen.
When will everyone realise Priddis is one of the first picked by every coach in the league.

If Simpson wanted to make a statement to players without the elite disposal he was accustomed to at Hawthorn he would of dropped Priddis round 1 2014.
He didn't because like all the other coaches who have played 100+ AFL games and possibly played in premierships he rates the things Priddis does well (better than every other sorry bastard in the league) as a good enough reason for him to be one of the first picked week in week out.

You want to elaborate on how Priddis is picked before the likes of Swan, Ablett, Mitchell, Fyfe, Pendlebury (and so on) by all the coaches in the league? Or do you count 50th as "one of the first"?

As for Rosa, I haven't seen him take a game by the throat since we won against the Dockers in 2011.
He is solid but not a game breaker IMO.

That Dockers supporter was a serial troll, his posts were wiped along with any posts quoting them.

Funny how no one is interested in the reigning Brownlow medallist

First picked my arse

I was watching a Chris Judd highlight package on Youtube, and it featured Priddis a number of times feeding the ball to Judd who kicks a brilliant goal.

Amazing to think that we had three current and future Brownlow medalists in one team at the same time, and arguably four if you consider Kerr was twice runner up.

Was there any games in 2006 or 2007 that all three of Judd, Cousins and Priddis played? I remember Priddis' first game was the epic comeback against the Cats in 2006, but I recall Judd did not play.

Six games in 2007 - Rds 16 to 19, Rd 21 and the QF against Port where Cousins did his hammy and Judd was barely able to move.

Aker, Black, Voss, all played together at the peak of their powers, all Brownlow winners. Kerr was the one that missed our group equaling that

Rosa doesn't need to dominate every game in order for him to be in our best 22. His form at the start of the year was best 22. That mark he took going back with the flight on the wing was proof of this. He is a solid player and is required.

Priddis had a better season than all those players except maybe Mitchell and Ablett pre injury. I would think most coaches would pick him on his consistency and strengths and not his lack of elite ball use and speed.
I never said he was picked above all other midfielders in the league. I stated that he would be one of the first picked for match day out of all the AFL lists week in week out.
Does Collingwood have a better inside mid on their list? And if they do, do they have three or four better inside mids that would get picked before him?

So is he better than the stars of the game? No. But he is one of the best inside contested players in the league and every coach and team in every league of footy needs an inside ball winning mid as much as it needs a star elite goal kicking mid.

You can't have a 22 that's consisted of the highest ranked 22 midfielders in the league, that is just silly.

You need a pack mark forward, a lead and convert forward, a crummer, flankers that can rotate through the midfield, a ruck, contested inside players and outside ball users.
Priddis is that contested inside player that every team needs. He's not a damaging goal kicking mid so he doesn't get tagged. He's not Ablett (but who the hell is?)

One of the first picked by Worsfold who is a premiership coach and now Simpson. Shit even the bloody umps had him first picked.

So which one of those BF users is an AFL coach?

That's a bit of a petty argument. Those BF users are realistically about as informed as you can get from a supporters perspective.

Coaches could very well pick the same teams for all we know. Mckenzie, JK and Lecras are clearly all a class above priddis when it comes to stature in their positions across the AFL.

Ok. One at a time.

1. I'll agree with you on point regarding Rosa with the caveat that he is in OUR best 22. That isn't much of a feat at the moment to be honest. He is a solid player as I said but not a top line player and is far too injured.

2. Priddis had a better season based on the fact he played every game yet he still wouldn't be picked ahead of either Ablett or Mitchell. You can throw Fyfe and Joel Selwood in there as well and a few other "inside" mids that are picked before Priddis. So your point about one of the first is incorrect IMO. Regardless of his season this year if you had to choose (should I say the coaches) he wouldn't be picked ahead of them. A fact brought out in the AA team.
As for his lack of elite disposal I can't see why you would have a number 1 inside mid without elite disposal or at least without "good" disposal. I keep asking this question over and again but all I ever get back as an answer is things like " he works hard and gets a lot of the ball"

I'll ask again: "What is the point of getting 30 possessions a game if you don't do anything meaningful with those possessions. If you can't execute elite disposal in heavy traffic which is where Priddis finds himself most of the game then why bother? Priddis doesn't have good disposal skills. He regularly handballs to the feet of teammates which takes up precious seconds to bend over and fumble the ball in picking up and his kicks are deplorable under pressure. Heck his kicks that aren't under pressure are deplorable many times. It is a rare kick that Priddis executes that gets applauded for its effectiveness and accuracy. The game against Essendon highlights this when he was on the wing 40 meters in the clear and he butchers the kick.

3. You didn't say "first picked for match day". You said "one of the first picked" In any case you are still wrong. See point 2 above. And if you were picking a team "now" you wouldn't pick Priddis ahead of Ablett or Fyfe or Mitchell would you?

4. Re Collingwood. Don't know what your point is suffice it to say I would pick Swan/Beams (still relevant for this discussion) and Pendlebury before Priddis so yes I would answer yes. And why highlight Collingwood and not any other team?

5. I agree he is one of the best inside mids in terms of getting the football and knowing where to get to the football. Mind you that isn't too hard as it is his only role. He doesn't have another one bar a few stints this season past. As for one of the best all round inside mids I couldn't disagree more.

6. Don't know why you brought up the point of 22 mids in a team...or why you went to the lengths you did to spell out the football positions.

7. "One of the first picked by Worsfold who is a premiership coach...and resided over the worst losing period in our clubs history with Priddis at it's core."
Thats how that sentence should have finished.

As for Simpson...he doesn't have much choice right now.

As for the umps...well...really? Many posters on here get castigated for not knowing anything about the game and get ridiculed for their views and opinions as a result. The umpires by and large have never played the game apart from growing up in school and can't get a bloody free kick right most of the time let alone know who is the best on ground each game. It is a medal awarded to the player who plays the most games and wins the most football generally. Priddis won it as a result. You can't tell me Priddis had more influence in our team in games than say Emac? But he doesn't get 30 possessions a game does he?

I'm just going with the fact that our players aren't proffessional enough off the field to be a premiership team yet. Thus Simpson in his wise ways is rewarding Priddis for setting the tone for offield standards hoping that when we are ready to compete the next gen has taken that on and that has lead to better onfield performances

There is one Thing that Naitanui does do every week, that is service Priddis like no other Ruckman could. Naitanui deserves a big thank you on the Brownlow. So on behalf of Priddis, Thanks Nicnat

Many, not all, of his taps are wasted on Matt. Nic will do a sublime tap straight down Matt's throat, but because he's stationary and not in motion like Shuey and Selwood usually are, he's wrapped up in a tackle and it's a dead ball.

Happens all the time.

I can see Priddis in our next premiership team. Playing the same role as he always has. This is all possible because of Naitanui, luckily

You really see us winning a premiership in the next 2 seasons? That's all that Matt has. Even his durability won't help him when he's 32
