Toast The New Carlton Thread: Lukey Sayers adds his utensil to the wooden spoons

Curious that this press release is from Luke Sayers rather than the Carlton Football Club.
They've also provided one :

Yeah OK. In other words "Old pork sword Sayers has some powerful contacts and we cant be bothered digging any further"

Maybe they just said something like “Before we investigate this can you sign a stat dec attesting to your version of events?” …

… and maybe he wasn’t prepared to do that?

Incidentally, using a stat dec was how we were able to stand down Gubby Allen back in the day. When he was recruited we got him to sign a stat dec about what happened with Whitfield at GWS. When that all blew up the stat dec allowed us to force him to stand down.

Wow that’s crazy. I think the JPs would be busy signing stat decs down at Princes Park with the dodgey goings on down there

What a balls up. The knobs shafted his own career.

I can’t imagine companies clamouring over themselves to add him to their board anytime soon. But hey, with the way the pendulum is starting to swing back - an errant dick pic may very well become the ticket for plumb board gigs.

As for his consulting career - yeah, he’s taking a break, but he’ll always find work with that.

Weird wording for someone who apparently did nothing wrong ..

Blues president resigns despite being cleared over lewd post - https://www.afl.com.au/news/1264757

I’d be surprised if the AFL integrity unit didn’t ask him questions like “As a President of a footy club, did you have 2FA turned on for your socials? Have you been sharing passwords between different systems? Have you shared your passwords with others?

They may very well have found that he didn’t send the dick pic, but they could still have got him on not properly securing his accounts. None of the the press statements make any mention of that side of it.

All this over a dick pic. It must have been really small, otherwise I'm not seeing all the outrage.

It’s also possible that he had 2FA on and the wife’s responsible if that’s the outcome? She’s accessed his phone, found messages to the mistress including the pic and posted it to X using his phone/ laptop.

A compromised social media account doesn’t get back into the hands of the account holder within minutes without the account holder knowing who the perpetrator is. It’ll make for some interesting divorce proceedings.

Divorce proceedings in Australia haven’t been “interesting” since 1975.

This is the closest to what I’ve been told. But I’m lead to believe there’ll be no need for divorce proceedings.

So Carlton's last month:
  • President gone after lots of negative press
  • Major sponsor on shaky ground (withdrawn naming rights from Carlton event)
  • Nick Newman out for the season (2nd in their B&F)
  • Re-sign a bloke, with 5 hammy injuries in 24 months, for 5 years
Keep it going please 🙏.
You forgot to add - Walsh another soft tissue injury and missing and month
