Alana King is having some Ashes series - 4 wickets in the first innings of the Test

She’d be close to player of the series surely

And well done Josh. Fantastic to see
Could easily have 6-7 the way she's bowling too.

Last 4 Aussies to get 100s on debut are West Aussies, how good.

Two my fave WA players are SOS and Ingo and both have made it a bittersweet moment for me as they both Scored debut centuries against my Lankans. Couldn’t even get to watch Ingo’s innings cause of work and he then gets out just before I get home fml

If these two finish not out (jinx incoming) then Marnus is kind of the only one to fail on this pitch, although all of the others did receive some luck with non-reviewals and dropped catches (Head, Smith and Khawaja that is).

No idea why de Silva or Kanindu Mendis haven’t rolled the arm over, they’re both not bad part timers. There’s no way that Australia would let another side pile on 500+ against the same 3 spuds without trying some combo of Head, Marnus and Webster to get a breakthrough.

De Silva has 166 first class wickets at an average of just over 30 FFS, take the ball and bowl man.

He’s also the captain too. Very bizzare

Missing by a few kilometres there. Sick review.

Yeah that was a shocker

One thing Cummins has been quite good with as captain is being conservative with reviews

Smith got talked into that

Inglis with the ton on debut. Looking forward to the 2 week media circle jerk konstas got x2 for this innings
Wild suggestion here but maybe it had something to do with him being a teenager attacking the best bowler on the planet and at least momentarily putting him off his game, something that hadn’t happened all series. Take nothing away from Inglis but he came in at 3-400 against a tired and incompetent attack that had already allowed two centuries, and he’s more than a decade older than Konstas.

Great innings by Inglis but lets not pretend that a 29yo getting a Ton on a featherbed against the Coonabarabrand 2nd XI bowling attack is twice as good as a 19YO knocking a 60 by ramping the best bowler in the world and chirping him when the rest of the team could barely hit him off the square.
That innings was all time and made even better by the bed wetting from the tall poppy cutters with a very narrow view of how cricket ought be played.
