Van Egmont on and gets the captain’s armband so there’s more than we can see from here, but those two halves seemed to highlight a gap in class between the first choice team and the next group (Raso excepted, she’d have to be picked but they wanted to try some things), and also made Heyman look like a definite first choice forward in Kerr’s absence - no substitute for knowing your position and being able to play it with confidence. Anyway, we’ll see.

Very hot night but coach Tony G got to have a good look at everyone...tough choices to make the 18 . Bumped into Gorrys mum walking back to hotel.....no photo as lm no stalker....
Great game...the Uzbek gals were gassed and cramping after 15 mins.....but to their credit never gave up.
Great to be apart of the night....onto Paris.
Nice to visit the city.....will spend some time tomorrow morning before heading back to the bool.
Thus team with some luck of the draw could medal.....lm backing them in fingers crossed....cheers 20240228_222332.jpg 20240228_220158.jpg 20240228_221601.jpg

Matildas captain and Chelsea superstar Sam Kerr has officially ruled out of the Paris Olympics due to her knee injury.

Kerr ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in a mid-season training camp in Morocco with Chelsea earlier this year.

Roger Kerr, Sam's father, officially ruled her out of the Paris Olympic campaign on ABC Radio Perth with Mark Gibson.

He said Kerr is in the beginning of her rehab and is hoping to play an off-field leadership role for the Matildas.

Just dropping this in….watched the match…horrid conditions…ankle deep snow and snowing…..the youngsters had their half of the field in second half completed covered in the centre….yet they managed to equal and kick the winner in the last 2 minutes of extra time….a b(#(#/ marvellous win….
The future is bright…there’s some cracking youngsters coming through……
So happy…best win lve seen in those conditions for awhile
