Good win to Crows, Reilly O'Brien annhilated Stefan Martin, Weightman failed to score at all, apart from the usual 24 to 10 free kick discrepancy, bit hard to compare last week to today.

Personally thought our list was a lot better.
That's what the general consensus was then, and everyone was surprised they belted us and presumed we'd just checked out for the season. We've been hyping ourselves as better than Hawthorn and Adelaide here and they've just shown us how much uncompetitive we are.

Yes, helped a lot that English was out (and Nicks played the dominant ruckman to take advantage). Heard a bit of chat of ABC radio during the game about how Crows had turned around from their hideous loss to Collingwood, and they suggested it helped to not play so many young guys at once, they weren’t strong or experienced enough.

It is their extra fitness that is most noticeable to me.

Young guys always seem to come on a bit better when the match is competitive and intense IMO.

Can't remember who it was the other day but they said that the moment Melbourne started talking "it's okay, we are rebuilding" internally that the oomph just went out of the entire playing group.

While of course you have to acknowledge you're going through a new phase and manage expectations, I have a grave fear that we've jumped the shark into deflated team expectations and it's actively harming our ability to be competitive again.

They now have guys like Billy bloody Frampton playing better footy than say Buckets.

And how far off west coke and the puffers are…

Fitter, more athletic, ran harder. There was nothing fancy about the game. Just came down to work rate.

It also helps when your primary ball movers are seasoned AFL footballers. We are mostly relying on blokes in their early 20's and teenagers to get the job done. Its a lot of weight for young shoulders.

High Greenwood - 30
Jy Simpkin - 24
LDU - 22

Have taken the vast majority of our centre bounces. Granted JHF is young but so are guys like Sam Berry.

If we're talking ball winners in general then Luke McDonald and Aaron Hall are also some of our highest getters. Who are something like 27 and 31.

I don't think we're as comparatively 'young' as we think sometimes. To emphasise - comparatively.

Lmao did Liam Ryan just drop a mark and then just start walking while his opponent took possession right next to him?
