Their fwd line could do with a big CHF, CCJ is what I'm thinking.

Play a bit like us, not very well is what I do mean. Jump on Lefau for the Kerridge. Looks and plays like someone we'd draft. We in fairness would have used a second rounder. Not sure the Tiger did that.

Maybe if the Tiger go to the MCG by mistake......

My advice is don’t look at the other teams or games and compare them to us. It will only make you feel worse. Console yourself with the fact we can’t get much worse and the only way from here on out is up.

Not buying into the comparison game or how any of it helps predict a future matchup against other teams, but I’d hope our players can look at that and be reminded that elite pressure gets you a very long way, no matter what else you are missing - did the same for us a few times last year too even though like tonight it didn’t result in wins, so let’s see more of that.

Hawthorn have more belief, greater leadership, and more maturity than us. We're not beating them.

I think what they have is a balanced side. They aren't great but they have the necessary KP players, small forwards and capable defenders. We're patching up square holes with round pegs.

It is not a surprise that our best football of the year so far came against a side we thought we had a shot at.

We may not get the Hawks but I gotta believe that our kids think they can actually win that game.

As soul crushing as this time has been as a supporter there has to be games where we at least have some sort of sniff

Ours are too flakey and the majority are woefully out of form.
Simpkin, McDonald, Corr, Stephenson, Stephens, Zurhaar, Tucker are all in the shit and LDU and Larkey are down on output.
Were in a horrible place at the minute.

Jy comes out with bold statements either before the season starts about how he is sick of losing and even this week stating they learnt their lesson on Good Friday and will give it a red hot crack.
But this is how confidence nose dives because our leaders cant back up their statements.
It then runs through the rest of the team like a virus.

The reality is our leaders are not good enough to turn the fortunes of the club around. Were in essence treading water until the talented crop come through. But that could take years.

So if the senior core can't lift the standard - what is the solution? Because Sheezel has played 26 games, Wardlaw 10 and Kerch and Duursma 4 each.

I think a lot of the problem is this. We got no wins for the effort that we put in during the middle-spurt last year, even if we obviously got very close. Seems like a lot of the players, after that, have decided it's not worth it (again, I don't think I'd be any better, I'm just describing the problem).

And when I say they aren't putting in the effort, I'm not comparing us to Hawks/WCE right now. I'm comparing us to us 8 months ago, during that Sydney/Essendon/GWS spurt of close games. In those, it seemed like we cared and had the hunger. Vs Brisbane (or Carlton), it didn't. I hope we can find it again.
