I'm big on the big icons, the genre creators.
Nirvana, Al Jourgensen, The Doors, T-Rex, Butthole Surfers, ZZ Top, Public Image Ltd, Danzig, Misfits, etc etc.

But I have a massive music collection, like 3-4 terabytes. So many bands, so many one hit wonders, so many famous bands, albums, etc. From classical music, to corny pop, to blues, 60s rock, 70s metal, 80s post-punk, 90s hair bands, etc etc.

You can't pigeonhole my tastes. But i definitely have a short-list of favorites (like above).

Those bands you mention...I have their albums, love a lot of their songs. But I have a soft-spot for the iconic, the tortured souls, certain specific songwriters who just strike a nerve in me.

And this version of the same song with Jay-Z is much deeper, and it actually touches on Diamonds from Seirra Leone..

Still prefer Ye's solo version of the song cause of its pure arrogance, magnifect rhymes and middle finger to the haters, but this cool also.

Was going to leave this GG/A11 love fest well alone but could not leave this ridiculous comment without commenting.

Pearl Jam, Soundgarden were Nirvana wannabes, nice bit vastly inferior to the great band. Cobain is amongst rock legends.
