Caerdyff 2-1 up.

I think the Scum will be fine tbh Sainter, reminds me of the seasons when we down there, you'll go into the relegation zone before winning away from home in the 46th game the way we used to do it :)

We used to do that in the premiership. We weren't supposed to ever go down. :(

Should scores remain as they are Leicester will drop into the bottom three and Sheffield Wednesday will jump ahead of Saints on goal difference.

FT Preston North End 2 - 1 Burnley

Late equaliser for Palace against Wednesday. :thumbsu:

I'll update the table as soon as the game at the Britannia finishes. Hopefully Stoke can get a winner.

24 Colchester 40 33

Colchester are gone. For the final 2 places, I think you could go as high as Preston in 15th before declaring teams safe from relegation.

As for the battle in the automatic promotion and playoff places, Hull are the big movers and must be a real chance to win the league, let alone earn automatic promotion.

**** its tighter than a ten year old in the top 10. Plymouth did well to draw vs watfrd altho a win wouldve been very handy
I do think however the top 5 will allmake the top 6, its a real battle for the 6th spot, whether plymouth can kick on and hold it or there is another challenge from any of ipswhich palace wolves or charlton

Cracking week for City, we get the dodgy loan sharks off our backs and get maximum points against a much disliked rival. Just to top it off we have grown balls again to ask Sunderland if we can loan a certain striker we sold them for 5mil in the summer.:D:thumbsu:

Apparently anti Trundle passion was quite strong and there was a bit of argy bargy between the fans, i'll be interested to hear if pomcrow got along to Ninian.

And got firmly told no by Keano :)

Chops then goes and gets a late winner for us, could you ask for him again when we play Newcastle in a few weeks :D

Does anyone want to get promoted? West Brom and Watford keep buggering up, and Stoke and Bristol City can't assert themselves at the top either. Hull look to be the side most likely to win it.

Palace just keep teasing one point out of the play-offs, as long as we finish above the scum I'll be happy. ;)

Nice finish by Chops as well. Could do with him back at the 'Well.

Another shite derby performance. Getting drawn closer into the drop. Leicester will be the big home game with Charlton and Hull left to play at home as well. Away days at Burnley, Preston and Cardiff. Will be very tight at the bottom.

As the season draws to a thrilling conclusion at both ends of the table, many clubs have hit the loan market to shore up their squads.

Saints have signed Chris Perry from Luton to go with the recent signing of Vincent Pericard as we look to experience to keep us in the league.

Stoke have signed Shola Ameobi from Newcastle which is a big signing and really complements the way they play.

Coventry have signed West Ham youngster Zavon Hines, Blackpool have signed Palace keeper Scott Flinders and Spurs midfielder Joe Martin, Sheffield Wednesday have signed West Brom striker Bartosz Slursarski and young Chelsea winger Scott Sinclair will finish the season at Crystal Palace.

Some nice signings there, especially Stoke (but will they be able to rely on so many loan signings for success if they go up?)

Meanwhile City whinge and cry about our striker shortage and the only attempt to sign anyone has been a 'one in a million' shot to try to get Chopra back.

Calling Robert Earnshaw, we need you back!

Pericard bought in as a special legal advisor to BWP and Dyer? He used to be a skate didn't he?

He certainly was. Hasn't made much an impact so far and don't really expect that he will.

The signing of Perry makes sense though. He's an experienced player and is a logical replacement for Andrew Davies but it remains to be seen whether he can make the step up from league one and have an immediate impact.

If we can leave Ninian Park with a draw I'd take it.

You tried for Mpenza on loan as well (as did Leicester). He didn't want to drop down the division apparently. Not sure why, he's got 2 more appearances to make to trigger a contract extension with us, and there is no chance of that happening, so it looks like reserves football for Emile.

I sure did. An eventful trip as usual!!!

1. The game

1st Half - We had the majority of the possession and territory although your front line (plus Parry who always impresses me) looked the sharper. We then decided to fall asleep (for the 2nd game running) right on the stroke of 1/2 time and Cardiff didn’t need to be asked twice. (1-0)

2nd Half. Cardiff all over us and we couldn’t keep up with generally superior passing and movement from the men in blue. In fact if it wasn’t for our keeper Basso it could have been 3 or 4 before...........

GJ then showed why we love him. Removing the awful Sproule and ineffective Carle (he's a good player bit I think he's still getting used to English football and can be a bit powder puff for centre mid on occasion) we then finally carved out a good cross leading to a headed goal from Adebola (1-1). About 5/10 mins later the sub Brooker buried another effort into the net only for it to be ruled out for offside (and having seen the tv replay - right decision - JUST:( )

Within a minute you'd got a pen (again no complaints), were 2-1 up and it was game over. And GJ managed to get sent to the stands. Brilliant.

On balance I think a draw would have been fair with both sides winning a half (in terms of possession) . However, Football aint like that and as Cardiff made the most of their chances , you won't hear that many complaints from me.

2. Trundle

LT got plenty of stick. However, it wasn't the chaos I was expecting, and certainly seemed (at least from the away end) not as vitrolic as the stick he got as AG. Just the usual "you jack/fat B*****d" stuff really. In general I think the atmos at NP is much less hostile that it used to be. Especially when compared to the "Murray game" back in 01/02 :p

3. Aggro

However.......

The worst since the ticket/travel restrictions have been introduced, but nothing REALLY major, in the main just tossers posturing behind lines of police and stewards. In summary:

Cardiff:

Constant coining of Bristol City fans
Waiting around on Sloper Road for 30 mins after the game
Charging Police Lines on Sloper Road

Bristol City:

Fighting with police after Cardiff’s 2nd goal
Ripping up a few seats at the final whistle
There’s also a rumour of Bristol City fans misbehaving in the family stand, which (if true) is a utter disgrace.

The Police:

Not arresting one Cardiff fan for the constant missile throwing
Steaming into the away end with batons swinging indiscriminately, thus inflaming a tense situation.

I've tried going to be as balanced as I can on the trouble issue - both clubs seem to have some complete cretins as fans. However, I’m frankly getting fecked off with being bloody coined at NP (6 visits over 18 years and 6 times I've been hit). It's something that seems like a real problem at Cardiff, like some strange fetish for coining Bristolians.

Anyway, congrats on the win. The Swans game could be fun next year. ;)

Please don't say that. My father is a life long City fan and i couldn't stand it when they had 2 promotions on the bounce. Entry to the premiership (looks likley to happen as well) would be the end of me.

Derby have loaned Steven Pearson to Stoke til season's end.
Very good player at Championship level although carrying a groin injury.

seth

Whens the last time a guy who is equal top goal scorer at a Prem club (Oakley) get relegated to League One in the same season . Surely Leicester will survive the drop

Saints beat the loan transfer deadline to bring in Chris Lucketti from Sheffield United. He won't play tonight but should he come in for our next game we'll have a central defence pairing with a combined age of 71. Must be higher than the Weir/Stubbs combination at Everton a few seasons ago.

We have a full line-up of games tonight with 11 of them traditional 3pm kick-offs. Charlton host Wolves in the late game. Can't say I'm expecting much from my boys. I'd probably take a draw but even that might see us slide down the table even more.

would pile on the pressure
