Another draw. We should be beating Blackpool :(
Blackpool have been in very good form and considering the workload on the players (we're in a run of Tue/Sat/Tue games) and the fact we've come off a derby we'll definately take the point.

Sounds as though Odijaye played well hasn't scored since September but is putting himself about. Score one and hopefully comes a flood.

Charlton Take Reading's Lita On Loan

Charlton Athletic of the Championship have bolstered their squad by taking Reading striker Leroy Lita on a month’s loan.

Charlton manager Alan Pardew has gone back to one of his former clubs to bolster his attacking options and give fresh impetus to the Addicks' attempts to secure a play-off place in the Championship.

Pardew has snapped up Reading's Leroy Lita on a month's loan.

Lita has slipped down the pecking order at The Madejski Stadium - and although the Royals are still deep in relegation trouble, manager Steve Coppell has agreed to let one-time Reading boss Pardew take the striker to The Valley for the next month.

Born 23 years ago in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, the former England Under-21 international had been linked with a move away from Reading in January, but Coppell said at the time that he felt Lita still had a role to play for the Royals.

Now Coppell feels that a temporary spell away from the club will benefit Lita.

"Leroy has understandably been frustrated at his lack of first team action recently, so this loan move will be a perfect way for him to retain match sharpness at the highest level of Championship competition,” Coppell told Reading’s official website.

Lita has had a difficult season. In a freak accident just before the campaign began, he was forced out of action for a month after damaging a leg muscle as he stretched in bed on waking up.

For those interested there was a game played earlier today.

Coventry 0 - QPR 0.

Would have liked a win, but we will take the point considering the Sky Blues dominated the game.

Haha, I actually got home from work and proceeded to fall asleep whilst listening to the game. I woke up again just in time to hear us go down 2-1 just before injury time which was surely game over considering we were already down to 10 men so I gave up. Can't believe we got an equaliser.

We're yet to win under Pearson but there's definitely seems to be a bit more spirit in our play. Still need to convert a couple of these draws into wins though but every point is vital in our current predicament.

haha, i slammed the door and walked out of the house after ebanks-blake scored his 2nd, only to find out 6 hours later that we'd equalised in the final seconds :D

:D

I just cracked the shits and turned the computer off when the goal went in. Would have been a huge injustice to lose that game, especially considering Vignal has since had the red card rescinded. I saw the incident on Saints TV and it was quite possibly the worst red card I've ever seen.

We're playing with far more spirit since Pearson has taken over. We're away to Blackpool this weekend. If we can play to a similar level we have to be a decent chance.

Oh, I'm happy to swap a relegation battle for some mid-table mediocrity too.

MARCH 8

FT Blackpool 2 - 2 Southampton

FT Charlton Athletic 1 - 2 Preston North End

FT Coventry C. 1 - 0 Norwich C.

FT Crystal Palace 2 - 1 Colchester U.

FT Hull C. 2 - 0 Scampaignerhorpe U.

FT Leicester C. 0 - 0 Bristol C.

FT Plymouth Argyle 0 - 1 Sheffield U.

FT Sheffield W. 2 - 1 Queens Park R.

FT Stoke C. 1 - 1 Burnley

---------------------------------------------

Fourth consecutive draw for us and three of those have been on the road.

Despite the fact that we have shown far more spirit since Pearson has taken over we are well and truly in a relegation battle. In fact after this mornings result we've slipped to 20th spot. There could be some very nervous moments in the coming weeks.

funny if you won the fa cup, got relegated and played in the league 1 whilst also playing in uefa cup

My reaction to that post is as following

:D

:(

It would be great to be in UEFA, and the FA Cup for that matter, but suck to be in League 1 at the same time.

If we can play 75% as well as we played against Chelsea in the league we will easily be clear. I cannot believe that was the same team that put out the tepid display against Sheff Wed the last time I saw them.

Well, the game on Wednesday morning is your classic 6 point relegation match. I don't want to even contemplate the consequences of a loss.

Surely you don't want to see the Saints in League 1?

Milan is the chairman there....... that is truthfully the sole reason i am hoping they win, definitely for sure, that is deffo the reason, there could be no other reason for me to lend them some support other than the fact that Mandaric is chairman (I think?)

Glad that we could grind out a win at home, something we've struggled to do this season. We need to take a point at West Brom and hope Barnsley have one eye on the cup and stuff them at home, but with the amount of youngsters in the side we have become very unpredictable.

The Leciester v Saints game is massive, and obviously the loser is in strife, especially with Sheff Wed having two games in hand.

Surely you don't want to see the Saints in League 1?

Typical bitter skate.

The only remaining premiership team still in the FA Cup and in the midst of unprecedented couple of seasons in the premiership and he still has to time to post negative Saints articles and support our relegation rivals.

Enjoy your time in the sun Mr P@H. At the end of the day your club will always be from Portsmouth so we'll always be better. :)

As for our current predicatment, we're 4 draws from 4 matches under Pearson. We may have lost the first game under his leadership but I believe he was signed the day before that game so I haven't included that. Three of those draws have been away from home and I think 3 of those have involved us coming from behind to force a draw. It's definitely a cause for some optimism. Our supporters like to talk about the so-called Spirit of Southampton and it's actually been on show in recent weeks. Our defence deserves credit for that and in particular Andrew Davies who has been a tower of strength. He's the kind of young defender that is probably good enough to have a crack in the premiership but didn't get a chance at Middlesbrough and is relishing his opportunity of regular first team football.

Here we go again.

Southampton takeover bid imminent

A consortium headed by Southampton fan and barrister Jonathon Fulthorpe is set to launch a bid for the club, BBC Radio Solent understands.
Fulthorpe teamed up with local businessman John Cousins to work on a proposal for several months.

It is believed they have held several meetings with Saints club officials and have significant funds to aid the club.

In February, the club revealed they had held preliminary talks with "certain third parties."

Anyway back to the league. There are 10 games tonight and 2 tomorrow night.
