Cam Richardson.
I thought he was going to be a star! Rated him higher than smith but the hip injuries were the death of him.

I remember him coming on once in a game lining up next to buddy on the wing. I thought here we go. Tall midfielder with defensive capabilities. He's going to be a gem...

That's why i was rapt when we signed EVW.

Ben Brown was a pick in the 40s not Rookie listed. Firrito quality value pick same as Gibson.

My point is that he came from many fruitless drafts and a couple of years in the VFL.

Cam was a good player and can't be sensibly utilised as a failure due to the fact he came from the VFL.

The connection is tenuous.

Was honestly surprised we didn't rookie him this year, he absolutely blew everyone away in the VFL last year for consistency and being in the bests.

Have heard theres a few major question marks over him though.
In terms of temperament? Or just the stuff we can see?

Mmm bop...mmm bop...bop..shoop bop.

That's wrong on every level. On a completely unrelated note the two guys in the row in front of us on the plane looked like they were in that band (25 years ago). My daughter was asking about the girls in the row in front! (I have hair down to the middle of my back so she doesn't think only girls have long hair.)

And...

They just toured!!! The Hanson lock up your grandma's tour. (This should be in the grumpy old thread.)

Port Melbourne has been a formidable breeding ground for NM footballers.

David King
Michael Firrito
John Baird

..that's about it.

But Robin Nahas went back there after playing with us.

Sarcasm FG?

Firrito and Baird only played there via our connection. Both were Box Hill players.

WERRIBEE

Ryley Barrack: “After managing five senior games in a variety of roles in 2016, Ryley has become one of our most important and consistent contributors. His strong marking and spoiling and ability to read the ball in the air have provided the starting point for many rebounding plays out of the back line.”

Matthew Hanson: “Matt is enjoying another standout season in our engine room. Despite close checking from opposition teams all too aware of his ability to influence games, he continues to prove hugely important at the stoppages, winning plenty of contested ball and clearances and exerting huge tackling pressure.”

Louis Pinnuck: “A product of the Murray Bushrangers, Louis has played senior games as 23rd man and as part of the 22 this year. Identified as a good defensive prospect, he has also shown the ability to play through the middle and push up forward to hit the scoreboard.”

Brett Bewley and Elliot Le Grice are the ones that'd i'd be willing to take a punt on.

Brett is a solid wingman 185, 85kg. Long left peg. Was in the leadership group at the western jets a few years back. Been very consistent over the last 18 months for Willi.

Yes I posted that. Why not? If nothing else it would create a bit of fun around here. I think he will return to Geelong because they have a way of getting these things done. (And I won't talk about fruit and vegetable proprietors either SonofSamsquanch)

It would fly in the face of everything that the club has done list wise, but he probably has a couple of good years in him, barring injuries and on the right money, being not too much, he might help fill a mid field void while we get some experience into our younger players.

no, absolutely not. He will pick and choose where and when he plays. I'd sooner Rockliff. At least there is a longer term benefit.

Stop!

So we just want to waste our picks on 34 year olds now? Would cost us pick 20 or whatever it is and he would be lucky to play 15 games a season.

Even Collingwood didn't trade picks to get their old battered star in Wellsy
