I guess you never know how tough your draw truly is until you see the season unfold a little bit. The teams that were good the previous year aren't always as good as that in the next. For example, the Swans this year thought at first the second half of their fixture would be the toughest. Didn't quite turn out that way.

I agree how come we get to play 3 of the top 4 teams twice when we finished 2nd last.

Clubs like WC get smashed becasue the AFL need to accommodate the likes of the Pies, Blues and Bombers who 'have to play' each other twice. That being the case it means less games left for clubs like WC and Freo to meet them twice hence you then in this case are forced to play the top sides twice.

Talk to Demetriou or better still Eddie who seems to be the real power.

Christ, you're more gullible than I thought.

You not only repeat what Eddie says you believe it too!

Do you not understand the contradiction in saying the AFL "have to" give Collingwood 14 games at the G when the AFL signed the very agreement that forces them to?

Not getting into that but the MCC demands to the AFL that Collingwood play 14 games at the MCG. Being a MCC member, you often see Gough commenting on the situation in various publications.

The Victorian clubs who complain about FTA coverage should take a look at this - the 6 teams with the least amount of FTA are the 6 non-Victorian clubs. If lack of FTA coverage and Sunday games = CBF payments, then all 6 non-Victorian clubs should be sticking their hand out for their share.

Hawks and North got scr##ed by the fixture committee.

Bare in mind Hawthorn has been scheduled to play 5 Interstate games, which is in line with most Victorian clubs (Collingwood and North aside)

The problem I have with the draw is the amount of TD games (especially the Essendon game - the 25th anniversay of the Essendon-Hawthorn 1984 GF), we really should be playing 12-13 games at the MCG and 0-1 game at the TD

Most of the interstate club games are shown free-to-air in your home state (as well as fox).

Why show them on free-to-air in Melbourne? We couldnt care less about your franchise clubs.

That's just coverage into Victoria

The interstate teams are on FTA into their own states.

Us franchise clubs are keeping you going "West Sydney"

stop whinging you collingwoof #uck stain.
Get ****ed you piece of shit.

Every other aspect of the draw is good for Collingwood, except for the fact that we play against Dome tenants at the dome as our home game. That makes no ****ing sense. All other parts of the draw that are in Collingwoods favour are there to maximise attendences and help the shitty drawing clubs of the AFL like North Melbourne and Melbourne who ask to play against us at the MCG so that they can stay alive. I'm happy with every part of our draw except that, hows about you contribute something of substance to the thread, rather than pathetic insults to me, you ********.

Welcome to Richmond's world, we put up with that every year.

Collingwood don't look so gifted next year, as compared to previous years. Suck it up, you actually have a fair draw compared to other teams. :thumbsu:
I agree with you that our draw isn't actually good. It just annoys me that the AFL are stupid enough to play us at the dome against dome tenants as our home game, yet have us at the G against Port and Fremantle. I understand that we have to play games at the dome every year, that isn't what has given me the shits, it is that we are playing two of the teams that play the dome the best when its our home game so the advantage should be to us. We should only play the dome against interstaters when its our home game, when it is the oppositions home game I don't give a **** where we are playing.

I realise that, my point was, Victorian teams who use a lack of FTA coverage (ie national coverage) as a reason to justify their dipping into the CBF is that they lack national exposure for attracting sponsors etc. Surely this is the same for all clubs?

well... i'm a bit in 2 minds about it. on one hand west coast are never going to get a great draw having to travel 10 times a year... but on the other hand it looks like we play ok teams.

from my own personal viewing point of view, i'm also in 2 minds. 5 games on free to air is terrible... however weekends that i've planned to travel to today have fallen at good times, with a trip to brisbane in round 1, home to launceston in round 5/anzac day for a long weekend to see west coast play hawthorn, the bus up to sydney in round 8, then a trip to melbourne in round 14. (i go with my brother - it's shockingly hard to find a weekend where the eagles and bulldogs play in melbourne on the same weekend!)
