They're not necessarily the #3 team in the East. Every chance the bucks could give them serious issues this year. Heck, the bucks gave our shell team serious issues in the playoffs last season and they have improved and have a better coach. THey were a harder opponent than the sixers.

It is Boston, then Toronto, then a significant amount of daylight, and then the rest. Not rating Philadelphia isn't being arrogant, its just not buying the hype that ESPN and sixer fans are peddling. There is flimsy evidence at best that they're anything better than a good 4 seed.

Where did I say that they're guaranteed a top 3 spot? They were better than the Bucks last year, and I think they will be again this year. I believe we're the best team in the East and are good enough to challenge GSW on our day, but dismissing them as not a threat is arrogance.

I didn't say you said they were a guaranteed #3 spot. You said they were likely top 3. Sure in home and away record, before you face teams desperately defending in the playoffs, they might have the 3rd best record in the east.

They buzz-sawed through a whole bunch of tanking garbage in the last 15-20 games of last season to get the record they did. I think a series between them and the bucks would not be an ideal situation for them whatsoever.

Philly still do not have a player on the outside where they can throw him the ball and he can go and get them a basket. In the playoffs, that is basically essential. Their best player by far also only has the conditioning to play about 30 minutes a game. With a roster like theirs and Amir Johnson being the backup, that means you're getting 10 pretty tired minutes out of Embiid in a 4th quarter of playoff games.

Stomping a shit miami team in a playoff series and beating a whole bunch of sucky nothing at the end of the season last year shouldn't automatically make them a threat to win the conference.

Yeah its a good thing they are doing, because it makes the other team need to defend him instead of letting him sag around.
