Wellingham a dud? lol

Credit where credit is due. With Sheppard, Wellingham has been very good off the backline. Cuddo to Simpson being able to get something out of them.

BUT considering his initial move west and how much he has cost, yes he has been a dud. FWIW, still a better trade than Tarrant or us getting Jack Anthony.

The Eagles are looking ahead to when Kennedy retires or as a back up for Le Crass when he gets injured. They are testing the water and nothing more and Cam knows that. He has his heart set on playing for Freo next year because there is an immediate position waiting for him, plus it's the club that he supports. The money won't be a problem.

The Eagles will be into Hogan as well as they always try to get every home sick West Australian player. Unfortunately Jetta was a dud and Wellingham has added nothing to the side and Josh Hill and Patrick Cripps are both seagulls. It doesn't stop them trying though, however their salary cap must be pretty tight now.

Carlton will be surprised to hear that Patrick Cripps plays for WCE and he is nothing more than a seagull.

And what will WC give up for McCarthy?

ETA: Another opinion.

There is no doubt that Cam McCarthy will be playing for Fremantle next season after he again demands to be traded back to Western Australia at the end of this season, says Greg Denham.

At the moment the 21-year-old is training with WAFL club South Fremantle after taking indefinite leave from football due to personal issues.

Despite impressing everyone in his first full season of league football with 35 goals in 20 games last year he sought out a trade due to homesickness.

The Dockers were prepared to offer pick 22 and this year’s first round pick for the forward, which funnily enough would be the first selection in the draft if the season ended today.

Yet in a recent twist Jake Niall has reported that West Coast is also very keen on acquiring young McCarthy if he does in fact leave GWS at the end of this season.

“Well it’s news to me about West Coast and I think there’s no chance of that ever happening but he’ll be playing for the Dockers next year,” said Denham on SEN radio.

“He actually will be playing for the Dockers, I’m surprised that any other clubs have been mentioned because he’s only going to one club and that’s Freo.

“You can (put in the vault he will be at Fremantle), it’s in the vault.”

Kim Hagdorn just said on radio this morning that the Eagles are prepared to offer up Josh Hill in order to get Cam McCarthy. I guess he won't be going there then.

heck, thought this was a joke then I realised you said Haggers said it, can see GWS welcoming Josh Hill, he is just the type of player they need. Better than Devon Smith, Palmer & Hoskin-Elliot by a mile, I hope GWS throw in a 2nd rounder just to make sure WCE aren't short changed.

Actually If Josh Hill is up for trade we should be in the mix, Lachie Neale and our first pick for Josh Hill & the out of favour but clearly a superstar Lewis Jetta?

Guys, sorry to intrude.. But do you think West Coast are trying to inflate his price?
The guy would probably be 5th(if you include Boyd) in line on the pecking order as a GWS tall forward. I Would think he is worth nothing more than a 3rd round pick.

In short, yes. That's exactly what they are doing.

Agree with your assessment of his value. He's late 2nd at very best after the recent happenings. If Freo offer any more than their 3rd round and maybe some shuffles of other picks, I'd be shocked.
