i agree am over people on this list bagging players we have just recruited , give them a go you just never know how good they will be.

3 picks in the top 40 plus 2 players who have played senior football is a good trade period in my opinion.

Plus they outed a guy who is way overrated by people on this board.

When we were looking at Judd, there was a lot of posts about how the culture of the club would appeal to him and would be a positive for him.

So why can't we look at guys like these two, obviously very talented guys that didn't gel with their club, and give them the fair go they deserve.

If they were duds they wouldnt have been drafted in the first place. Our recruitment staff aren't idiots, and to be honest, would look at today like they made the steal of the trade period... two players bursting with potential for two high picks.

The Roos culture will be good for these boys, and I am certain we will look back on this mid year and feel happy we made the move for them. They benefit us far more than Moran and the two picks we lost would have.

Even if they add to our depth its a win. Word is that its a shallow draft with anything after 25 being lotto time.

I still think we could have pushed the Doggies and got Power for a 4th rounder or even in the PSD.

But nothing to be dissapointed about even if they don't work out.

worth taking a risk with 2 youngsters that havent really shown a hell of a lot who still have something to give.... doubt a decant player would be picked up with pick 48 or 96

Power for pikk 48 is a good deal for both clubs, and ill be willing to say now that he'll be a good pick up for us next year.

Totally agree. I don't know anything about Davies but I thought Power had really emerged as a player in 06'.
I was very surprised that he had such a dreadful year in 07' but there were a lot of other Bulldogs that failed to maintain the heroic standards of the previous season.
A different team, a different culture, a different coach and a different structure can often mean a different player.
We only know Sam Power the Bulldog not Sam Power the Kangaroo.
He should be given the benefit of a doubt and enough game-time to vindicate his selection.
