Atlanta are obviously clearing space. They're reluctant to take on a pretty decent deal in Gortat, no way they even think of Amare. I think Gortat, Dudley, LAL 1st is a great deal for Atlanta. Not sure they'll get a C better than Gortat in free agency, and they will still have plenty to throw around

Also struggling to believe the Nuggets-Wolves rumour. Roy's expiring deal + 1st for Mozgov, and reportedly Denver said no...

We know for certain Smith is being moved and other GM's are lowballing them. I see him being moved and then Atlanta making a play for Pekovich from the Wolves. Horford plays the 4 with Pek, gives them the size inside to compete with the Heat.

I don't think it is that far fetched to see Atlanta end up with Teague, Ellis, Horford and Pekovich line-up next season.

fairdinkum a guy that can shoot the rock isnt going to fetch 10 mil a year.

Yeah, he is not going to get that much. The only teams who will try to trade for him now are those after cap relief this off-season.

Seems like things will stay quiet until Josh Smith is dealt.

Would a third team get involved with Nyets and Hawks to make a deal?

The Bobcats seem to be the only team interested in Humphries at all, I doubt Smith ends up Brooklyn. I think the Bucks may have the best offer considering I've heard teams are low-balling the Hawks. Not sure who else can give a better deal than Ellis and filler.

Yeh what happened to humphries for Ben Gordon? I thought that was all but over the line last week. Maybe part of something bigger?

Nets might be holding off to see if they have a shot at someone like Smith/Millsap or they could also be wary after Gordon had that altercation with Coach Dunlap last week. I would still like to see it go through by the deadline as we need size desperately.

I think that is the most plausible extra part of a potential Smith trade. Smith to Brooklyn, Humphries to Bobcats, Ben Gordon, Marshon Brooks and picks to Atlanta. I can see why Atlanta would say no to that deal, if the Bucks really want to move Ellis for Smith, I think that trade is the better option for Atlanta.

can i just say, aside from draft day, trade deadline day is my fave day of the nba calendar.

Not as much talk about the super athlete's wingspan on trade deadline day but overall I think I prefer it to draft day as the results of the day play out straight away.

Demar Derozan got more; I wouldn't put it pass one of the many teams with a stack of cap space next summer.

DeRozan got 4/38 and that was an overpay, but it's not even close who I would rather between a 23 year old DeRozan and a 28 year old Redick. I thought JJ got overpaid on his last deal off the back of a really strong playoff series against Boston. To his credit he has put up better numbers every year since his rookie year, but I'm not sure that trend continues much past this season. Any team dishing out anything over 7mil per year will be regretting it come year 4 I think
