Still 7 weeks left mate. Cross your fingers and toes for no LTI's.

I don't look at it that way mate.

I am looking at it as that I have to survive 3 more weeks now without a long term injury and then I will grab Riewoldt just in time for finals. :thumbsu:

Once the finals start I will still hopefully have my 2 trades left where I can just use one to upgrade Webberly/Roberton to a fallen premium gun defender.

Yes, a bit of luck will be involved in regards to not getting any more long term injuries but thats half of what this game is all about, LUCK! ;)

The way it's looking, ill have enough cash to offload Hitchcock for him, when i was looking at either Goodes, Brown, ROK or Rockliff for Roo. If Hitchy improves a bit and Roo keeps sliding, ill like my forward line...

Chapman, Riewoldt, Pavlich, O'Keefe, Podsiadly, Brown, Franklin (Rockliff, Goodes) :)

That's just stupid what a waste of $800 - 900k on your bench.

Other areas of your team must be struggling because of this!

Nope. I could move McNeil to the Forward line bench and put Goodes on the Midfield bench as i only have Shuey there currently.

As much as an under-achiever as Goodes has been thisyear he's a luxury on either bench especially if he is going to play more in the midfield now.

You must be carrying a rookie or some mid pricer somewhere else on your field?

If you want Roo in that badly you'd be better to sideways trade out Goodes altogether (if he's getting relegated to your bench) and use the cash to sort things out somewhere else.

Don't get too blinkered on Riewoldt. Doesn't seem to me that you really need him.

I'm short in the ruck, but i'm quite happy with Skipper and Bellchambers taking R2 and R3.

For arguments sake with the addition of Riewoldt at the expense of Hitchcock, this is how my team will look with all trades used up. Only have 1 trade left:

Backs: Goddard, Hodge, Malceski, Enright, Scotland, Gilbert, Shaw (Nason, Roberton)
Mids: Ablett, Swan, Selwood, Bartel, Judd, Boyd (Goodes, Shuey)
Rucks: Sandilands, Skipper (Bellchambers, Grimley)
Fwds: Chapman, Riewoldt, Pavlich, O'Keefe, Brown, Franklin, Podsiadly (Rockliff, McNeil)

Covered pretty well in all areas if a LTI appears, as Rockliff and Goodes walk straight into the side. Back depth is okay as both kids are playing consistently now.

Ouch... You'd rather start Skipper over Goodes!? Or should I say... You'd rather under-utilise Goodes and rely on what is sure to be at least slightly rusty Roo meaning Skipper remains on the field?!? That's just not logical mate. You're missing out on at least 50ppg... At least.

Goodes playing in his absolute worst form will still make Skippers best score! And it looks like Goodes is back in some form and playing in the midfield again... So probably a few more 100+ scores at least. Roo is good mate but seriously if that is the outcome you just can't justify it if it means Skipper is starting & Goodes has to be benched. Just crazy talk. Silly really.

What ruckman is going to average much more than 30 over Skipper? Roo will pull out a few 150+ where Goodes probably will go back to rubbish.

Skipper has done me well, and I think he is capable of hitting 70's. I just don't see where else my $192k is better spent. It gives me cover in the mid/fwd where as Tippet/Cox/Jolly i'm not sold on.

I'm happy for Goodes to give me injury cover up fwd on in the mid. Im happy to take a hit on skipper.

I disagree RE:Goodes reverting to poor form but I guess we'll just have to see about that one mate. I hope he's hit form but who knows ey?

As for the rucks; I can't see how Tippet & to a lesser extent Jolly aren't in your radar... Tippetts rolling avgs (123.75 over 3 weeks & 106.5 over 6 weeks) would disagree with no quality ruck stocks mate. As would Jamars 138 (and 131 against collingwood a few weeks ago). Ok, I have Cox and agree he's been below par for sure. But then saying that, still a gun. And what about.....

- Jolly: Avg 114 over the last 3 weeks in a good team?
- Ottens: Only $322600 after his comeback is cheap
- Graham: Again only $368k (yes ok thanks to a rolling 36) still worthwhile
- Mumford: Yes Seaby is coming back but Mummy's been in great form
- Bradley: Cheapish given that recent 38 rolling in his avg atm.

All capable... And with a downgrade from Goodes (or not trading in Roo) you have a great chance at a team complete with guys that have at least the potential for 100+ scores. Not Max 70 odd.

I get the Roo trade. He's a gun. But certainly not at the expense of having Goodes' points on the bench and Skippers on the field. Waste of the money you paid for Goodes in the end.

I wasted my Goodes dosh all year. I might as well use him on the bench cos the cats will rest players and it's no good copping donuts when Jolly etc will only add another 30-50 and I'll be minus roo and no cover.

You're really not getting it...It is DUMB to have premo priced players on your bench. The game is all about managing resources. Think about it.

It may be dumb having Goodes on the bench and Skipper on the field, but i'm just covering both my midfield and forward line in case of an injury as I have only one trade left.

Isn't this the point of SC? Get the best players you can for the year? somebody's gotta miss out.

Its SHAKESPEARES team for crying out loud, let him do what he wants with it.

Goodes is no different in a way than having Rockcliff as a keeper on your forward bench as excellent cover. Both around the same price, both gr8 cover. :thumbsu:

The fact that he has Goodes as an MPP mid/forward is a luxury I agree but you can't argue that its some bloody good cover and will come mighty handy for him during the finals. ;)

Thank you. A voice of reason :)

I'll need all the cover i can get.

You already have a complete forward line. Riewoldt is a luxury especially with Rockliff at F8 + the McNeil MPP flexibility. You aleady have good cover in FWD and MID. Now you want double good cover! What about your ruck or defence?

With 1 trade you are better off keeping Skipper too. Keep your trade for a LTI is my tip.

The problem here is you have $192K burning a hole in your pocket and only 1 trade to use it on. You've got something wrong somewhere somehow to be in that spot. 1 trade left isn't enough anyway but you can't change that now.

Very nice side all the same :thumbsu: Just use that last trade wisely.

I'm holding off for a few weeks until Roo gets close to an achievable BE. If no LTI's are there by round 18, I'll just use it then.

i dont agree in getting roo in just for the sake of it, if someones fwd line is set then thats it leave it i guess, especially if roo isnt pumping out his 120s+, i for one will get him as a last resort as ive still got other areas to fix, if the cards fall my way i may get in roo
