Dour. Listless. This was not the performance we wanted to kick off a premiership defense with. The game itself wasn't going to win any awards for excitement from either side but the well oiled machine that won a grand final about 12 weeks ago simply did not show up, and nothing gelled this week. The #stackedsix were as stingy as they could be (after Hatchy got hold of Blacky early) and brahj kicked a brilliant goal from CHB (he ran a bit) in one of the only individual highlights of the day. The forward line did not function at all - one goal for the whole forward line in total showed how uncreative and ineffective we were in the front 50. Our mids toiled all day with credit to nahnah and his 8 tackles and a solid debut by Danger in Texas.

Next week we head off to take on the Gumbies in a must win encounter. We will be debuting Gadzorks who did plenty of work off field for us in the match thread last week, easing in with double figure posts. Hopefully we smash the shit out of them.

I have a Sunday problem. My partner bought me this hell yes we are alive toy that I play with on Sundays.

The sailing season ends in April so I'm figuring I'll get delisted for failing to make games on Sunday afternoons.

I'm all out on the training track during the week so if there's a place for me to be a weekday specialist I'm all over it.

The best thing about all this mate is you don't even need to do anything on Sunday's except ride some waves and then check in on if we won once you're relaxing in the evening. All the work we do is in the banter threads all week prior.

Ain't a damn soul at the Royals that would begrudge THAT Sunday ride though.
