Captain's Address

Another really solid win and one we were able to jump out on, withstand a third quarter charge and in the end turn into a little bit of a blowout. Every line is working brilliantly at the moment, defensively we worked tirelessly (they only had four goalscorers). The mids were great again with spookism, Marlowe, ShaunDuggan and grumbleguts taking advantage of GreyCrow's dominance. Our S30 success strategy of having one of our half forwards play as an extra mid is being repeated with Ulahoopski again in killer form and the full forward kicked 9, which is alright.

We had a bit of a drop in posting but still had 13 pop up for the week. This week we have the Rats in the last round of the season before finals and hopefully we can put up a big show. We still have top spot in our sights, if we win. Our percentage is good enough to catch the Gumbies if they lose and it's important to keep the home final double chance because the Warriors and Demons are breathing down our necks.

Not much to say about this one in the end, we got dragged into an arm wrestle and even though we nearly snatched it they were able to subdue us in the last couple of minutes. In the end it didn't affect our final standing as the Gumbies were able to draw so we stayed second and stay home this week for a qualifying final. Some nice performances during the game, props to Marlowe who should have grabbed some Mobbs votes but also finished a game on top of his mortal enemy Nunez, an event I believe we may never see again. Just a high quality slog all around, and the loss we had to have (hi ya).

Posting was calm... both teams pretty quiet as the Rats headed off on end of season holidays. Again, not much to fuss about. We welcome the Warriors this week who we've had a good few battles with recently. Let's not let them walk away from our throne with heads held high.

The second loss in a row we had to have! That's the tonic for better sleep because we pissed away a pretty decent lead and forgot to come out in the second half which was a shame because it's been a very long time since we've let a team turn over a lead. Marlowe worked tirelessly in a game not worth Mobbs votes (sucked in), GreyCrow lost the ruck duel but was really mobile around the ground and good for a hat full of goals but generally we were a bit plain. This is something that needs to change because next game could be the bow out to the premiership double, straight sets sucks and it would be even worse losing to either the Bombers or Wonders in the coming weeks.

Posting was excellent so let's take that massive positive. We won the thread against a team pretty much up and about and had 9/13 posters hit double figures and even better, 3 were 50+. Obviously we're in an early thread right now against the Bombers, hopefully we can bring it everywhere this week.
