very tough, bartel sc god, and fisher is the rock. not entirely sure why but i will say goodes & fisher. i'm not going near shaw until i see solid evidence he knows what to do when someone stands next to him, just so sh!t last year

Gilbee - only needs 20 touches to rack up 100pts as he hardly ever misses a target, also the word around the kennel is that he's in awesome condition and set for a big year.

One for the Bomber fans - is J Nash worth 392k, he seems able to rack up the possies. How is his efficiency?

If you want a lot of consistency, Fisher. But i'm going Goddard cause he could score something massive staying in the midfield.
Cant really split Gibbs or Selwood in my head at the moment either. Would probably give Gibbs the edge....just.
As for the other, Goddard potential for big scores and in for a good year, Fisher SUPER consistent... cant lose with either
Ablett and Rance or any rookie back (on bench)

My backline contains Malceski, Houlihan and Hill so I want a good back up, eg. Collier. But I aslo really want Ablett, so do people think the risk of starting those 3 in the backs is worth it if I can get Ablett? Cheers

Sounds like you have the same issue as many other coaches... Get Ablett at the expense of team balance... Me personally, I think he is simply too expensive to start with. I may eat my words but IMO the most likley direction his avg will head is down, which is a little harder to say with confidence considering the performance he gave us last week...
With greater team balance you will more than likely end up with a higher weekly score, however, the thinking behind Ablett and I guess the most appealing thing about him is that if you have him you are obviously going to select him as a lock for captain each week beacuse he is one of only a few players in the league that pull massive scores consistently. As far as I can see this is the only real benifit of having him from round one... unless anyone else wants to add to that?

If you've got Ablett I don't see you betting against him, meaning that he is a week-in lock for captain. The downside to that is your captaincy isn't on a weekly basis. I feel that by not having Gablett you'd be able to possibly play the percentages and have a rotating captain that averages more than Gablett.

Fwds: Pavlich, Deledio, Skipworth, Houlihan, Zeibell, 94k rookie
With 166k in the kitty.
Option 2:
Mids: Judd, Dal Santo, Kerr, Gibbs, Haselby, Rich
Fwds: Pavlich, Deledio, B.Harvey, Houlihan, Higgins, Skipworth, Zeibell
With 9k in the kitty.

Option 1 gives me a midfield set for a majority of the year but a shaky forward line. But keep in hand i have the 166k up my sleeve to make any neccessary upgrades.
Option 2 i get a downgraded midfield with a couple of risky players but a more potent forward line-but less cash to make upgrades if say a Kerr or Haselby backfires.

goes for the low stabbing pass way too often, when it comes off it looks great but a fair amount of the time he manages to screw it up, so no, dont get him, too many clangers, a better bomber at that price would be mcphee, hes not great either but should be solid

I hated picking captains every round last year just cause I didn't have Ablett. It was very stressful so I reckon spending the extra $100,000 compared to Bartel is worth the peace of mind! LOL!

I'm assuming you have Lids ands J.Riewoldt?
I would try and upgrade Riewoldt to Lucas or downgrade him to Skipworth.
