That's a pretty optimistic outlook.

You forgot to throw in world war 3 and total annihilation of all life on the planet.

Lets all take a deep breath and let the dust settle before we start planning for the end of the world.

I've said it before. Trump said a lot of s**t last time. And for the most part it was business as usual for the rest of the world. It's always been a puppet show.
I didn't mention WW111 because it won't happen.

You now have 3 transactional autocrats in charge of the 3 largest militaries in the world. There's enough pie for everyone. Those guys know the rules as it relates to dealing with each other.

They'll work out a map they can all live with where their interests and needs are met within their regions. With that accomplished they are free to concentrate on suppressing any internal threats or opposition to the continuation of their power. Political, legal, economic and media suppression/manipulation.

WWIII just got a whole lot less likely. Liberty and freedom a lot harder.

What you've just described is no different to the way it's always been.

Grow up. My daughter-in-law is a youth mental health specialist. When you grow up, go and see her. Massive sook you are.
Last night I re-learned the first few versus of the ‘Dear Hunter’ acoustic lead (the movie with De Niro in it wayniac). Great song, very difficult. Slept like a baby.

Good on your daughter - that must be a bloody tough job. Anyway, the sun is up, I’m going for a trot. Have a nice day on your phone with your algorithm.

Not always in America.

The electorate has just made a deal with the devil. A standard of living for the price of political freedom and to an extent, self determination, for themselves and others.

The Americans themselves won't do badly economically. All they have to do is work, consume and stfu. They'll be alright Jack.

Resource rich countries and or those that are used to or aspire to self determination who neighbour militarily powerful autocratic rulers are in for some tough times.

Deals will be made. I won't block you here, don't block me there. The suffering of those being traded is inconsequential. They're only people after all.

Genuine question. If it was someone else with the exact same policies, but someone who wasn't offensive when they talk, wasn't a convicted felon, and was a complete cleanskin socially, would there be this same uproar?
Is it specifically his policies that are people's biggest issue, or is it Trump as a person or a mixture of both?
It's crazy you even need to ask this question.

Again. I'd argue that it's always been this way.
The worst of it under the Bush Snr era. (Reagan through to Bush Jnr).

It's a little different this time around because Trump is clearly an autocrat who's just been gifted both houses (likely), a Supreme Court in his pocket and immunity.

So the US itself is not going to bear the brunt of this new world I don't feel. All that is required of them is to turn a blind eye which isn't too hard if you're OK. The pace at which things change could be surprising however.

Places like the Ukraine, Baltic States, Taiwan and possibly Venezuela are likely to feel the brunt. Most of those we are used to thinking of as self ruling and determinative, as are they. Their independence and self determination just got very precarious in my view. I don't think Trump will hesitate to give up on any of them as long as he can get US tech interests out of Taiwan first and get some assurances on Venezuela's oil reserves.

Australia will be the line in the sand with China but they may come to a resource sharing understanding to avoid conflict.

There won't be any conflict in Taiwan. Trump will just let them have it as long as the tech extraction clause is met.

Africa and the Middle East is where the waters muddy a bit. How tricky it gets will be determined by the volume and nature of the resources at stake.

Fair analysis, and can't really refute anything.

What I will say though is blaming Biden for running again isn't the whole story imo. The DNC surrogates still voted for him in the primary. They had other options, and he absolutely should have been tapped on the shoulder at that point. The fact they waited til he cooked the debate is as much on the Democrat party, as it is on Biden himself.

It's no small thing to tap a sitting president on the shoulder. Especially one who had delivered a mid term election result that went against historical trends. So of course the delegates were going to endorse him going into the primaries, even though the signs were beginning to become apparent. They had no idea of the looming disaster that was going to be a debate where neither candidate exactly shined, but where one was exposed on a national stage as being well past his best and the other was just his usual deranged self. Something that people clearly take in their stride and accept as part of doing business in modern U.S political discourse where the show or bigger personality always outweighs policy. lets be honest on the policy front neither party has covered themselves in glory given how little either side talked about their actual policy platforms.

Orange man bad. Shrieking commie cackling lady bad. That was the gist of the entire campaign to me.

Just as it's not small thing to convene an entirely new campaign infrastructure around a new candidate. One that may have an even lower national profile than a sitting V.P. It's a fantasy to think that with a mere 107 days to go to an election that the DNC or its delegates could've parachuted in any other candidate. Once Biden made (or had made for him) his 11th hour decision not to seek the nomination, they had little choice but to fall in line behind Harris. Which they duly did.

Whilst Im here, Im going to muse further on things that kinda gnawed away at me during the campaign, that have come into sharper focus as Ive thought through the results of the election.

This is addressed to nobody in particular.

The Harris/Trump debate was clearly the high water mark of her campaign. And even though it was typically cowardly of Trump not to front up for another walloping errr...debate. It in effect robbed her campaign or any oxygen and momentum due to the media relentless thirst for Trumps oxygen sucking antics which would enrage libtards like me and enrapture those that enjoyed the lowbrow end of libtard owning political schtick that he so clearly excels at. News outlets for all of their faux outrage ate that shit up and generated countless hours of panel discussion and content out of it. Legacy Media in the U.S doesnt operate on a level playing field. It operates on getting the best RoI for its investors. Nothing else. I doubt that the owners of corporate media give a shit who wins as long as the share price goes up.

Given Trump will be in his 80's during his term and the fact that he isn't nearly as sharp as he was during his first run. I can see history repeating itself when he goes into the lame duck period of his presidency. However, If the punting of a cognitively impaired Biden was difficult. I cannot imagine how you'd go about removing an already impaired Donald Trump from office given he has a firm grip on the testicles of everybody within what was once the Republican Party but has no clearly morphed into one who's image is solely based on Trumpism. The Democrats could only hide Bidens decline for so long. The Republicans will have to deal with the same issue of electing a man past his best soon enough.

One has to wonder if he will try to pave the way for one of his idiot sons or the daughter that he has a very weird physical attraction to, so as to continue his legacy beyond 2028. This of course would run counter to his narrative of stopping the Bush/Clinton/Bush/Obama/ Clinton political dynasties during his initial run at the presdiency. But nobody has ever accused Donald Trump of consistency of thought. Expediency, opportunism or rape Sure. Consistancy. Nope.

Oh, my (non existing) god. Im. talking about 2028 already. Kill me now.

It's funny how Bidens age was seen as an impediment to his second term by his political opponents as soon as he took office. Yet Trump will be the oldest man ever elected to the presidency once he retakes office and older than Biden currently is when or if he leaves and we hear neary a word about it.

Maybe its not so funny after all.

Its all devolved into a theatre of the grotesque. Which is why I will continue to find it so fascinating.

I'd recommend you to read books written by John Perkins. Starting with 'Confessions of an Economic Hit Man' . He details what the U.S. and other countries have been up to for decades. Regardless of who's sitting in the White House.

Haven't read but will look for it.

What do you think the chances are that in the next 12 months the US recognise Russia's territorial claims to Ukraine and China's claims to Taiwan and the island(s) to the north of Japan....or is that Russia's claims...I forget.

Cuba....America's 52nd state?

Hopefully I'm as bad at predicting dystopian new world orders as I am at US election results. Maybe I'll get it right next time .... oh that's right ... there won't be a next time😉

To answer your question. I don't know what will happen and neither does anyone else on this forum.
What I do believe however, is that the plans have already been laid for those countries you mentioned, regardless of who's sitting in the oval office.
There's been ongoing conflicts in the world for the last 80 years because it's a profitable business for those pulling the strings. I can't see that changing anytime soon

You didn't even know who he was a week ago.
Don't be obtuse. I said I didn't know who Theo Von was until Trump went on his pod.

Ive also said that there was a time before he got his **** off money from Spotify that I used top listen to The JRE.

Biden's taken his vitamins today! Surprisingly lucid and cogent.

A shame his mind could not hold on for another 2-3 years to get through this election, he was the only guy to beat the cult and win the swing states.

Yeah, he should have handed it over 2 years ago after he got that lard-arse out of the White House in 2020 and showed the signs of senility. A proper process should have taken place in 22 to find a replacement who could win the swing states.

A gracious speech - the last one we get to see for a very long time.

I read that book years ago when I came back from working in Suhartos Indonesia. I wasn't surprised by the revelations. I had firsthand experience of the bribes paid via consulting firms such as Price Waterhouse, Ernst and Young and the heavy hitters such as Kellog, Brown Root.

KBR, Inc. is a U.S. based company operating in fields of science, technology and engineering. KBR works in various markets including aerospace, defense, industrial and intelligence.

Note the ïntelligence part.....

Australian expats are treated like the White Trash of Asia because we are slightly more ethical and can't pay the bribes that other countries do.

Graham Greene nailed it decades earlier in his novel The Quiet American.

A couple of people we got to know were working for ASIS. One guy who had embassy staff as his cover told me he was meeting and greeting Paul. I asked Paul who? It was Paul Keating and sure enough, next day on the front page of the Jakarta Post was this guy standing by the Prime Minister on the tarmac at Soekarno-Hatta airport.

The embassy staff had a great beach house on the Sunda coast. We spent a weekend there with his family. Your taxes at work..

Considering he's in a discussion board with you, I'd say his limits of tolerating troppo would be pretty amazing.
The Donald still looking good. Might need the 2024 version.
