Part 4 is here:

On the other side of the coin, a place i worked at in the cbd directly after finishing up fifo, you'd get a written warning if someone saw you not crossing the street at the traffic lights and reported it. :tearsofjoy:

I did some work for Rio once and it was like a competition to see who could chest puff the hardest at the contractor doing window cleaning outside.

Mining company employees need a Bart Simpson blackboard to write out 'office buildings are not mine sites' 100 times.

We know all of these things will be put out in easy to read dot points (which they were before the press conference even ended)

Easy to read yes, easy to interpret, not so sure. You are correct that we don't need all of those questions answered in press conferences, but the online list needs more detail, all that will happen is phone lines will get blocked up.

So there's a 4 square metre rule in place for hospitality places and there can only be seated service in a hospitality venue. Nic Naitanui is 201cm tall, lay him down on his side in front of you and then to the side, no-one is allowed to sit any closer than that to you in any direction in a hospitality venue.

What constitutes compassionate grounds for visiting someone in an aged care or disability care facility? Is compassionate only if they're about to die? Who can visit on compassionate grounds, immediate family only, extended family, friends? Do the facilities themselves have a list of compassionate reasons or do they or you have to ring WAPol and get permission on a case by case basis?

If I want to organise a rally or protest for something, does it count as an event, which has a limit of 150 persons, or does it count as a gathering which is restricted to 20 persons.

What do places of worship count as if I want to attend for services other than a wedding or a funeral? Does that count as an event or a gathering for crowd purposes? Places of worship aren't specifically mentioned below.

I can have 150 people at a venue and then staff on top of that but at community sport event, every person, competitors, officials, spectators / parents are included in the 150, why? Isn't an indoor basketball stadium a venue, why can't the centre staff and officials and volunteers be counted on top of competitors and spectators?

The post-lockdown transition period for Perth and Peel includes:

  • Wearing a mask when in public and while at work, unless exempt or for vigorous outdoor exercise
  • All business and venues can reopen, except for the casino and nightclubs
  • 4 square metre capacity rule in place for hospitality, entertainment, public and fitness venues, up to a maximum of 150 (excluding staff)
  • 150 person capacity limit applies at all events, including weddings and funerals, and community sport (including players, officials and spectators)
  • Seated service only at hospitality venues
  • Dancing only permitted at weddings and dance studios
  • 20-person limit for private indoor and outdoor gatherings
  • Visits to aged care and disability care facilities restricted to compassionate grounds
  • Residential school and boarding facilities can resume with a COVID Safety Plan
  • Only essential travel permitted in and out of the Perth and Peel regions to other parts of WA.

Does it matter? You can travel from Perth to Peel anyway, it's travelling outside those two to other regions that have the restrictions.
Yes you're right. Cheers

One of my favourite docs is doc Miller. Challenged McGowan and his CMO every step of the way when early decisions were being made and I’m sure it’s because of him we were spared some disastrous outcomes

Andrew Miller? He's been contrarian the entire time, inconsistent on borders, basically preaching disaster every step of the way. He's right once in 10 months and he thinks he's a genius. I suspect he has political ambitions.

He has been...

- For strong borders
- Against strong borders
- For gathering limits
- Against removing gathering limits
- Against hotel quarantine
- For overseas arrivals ban
- Against overseas arrivals ban

...at various points in the past year. No thanks. Contrarian is fine - you need a critical eye on government - but only if you concede when you get it wrong. JackOutback is right in that he possibly has political ambitions - he has represented the AMA in public constantly with every new COVID measure.

I agree - been really contrary, but I don’t think it hurts to have the govt challenged especially by the head of the AMA here in WA if he doesn’t agree with something. He went really hard on him early for not shutting down soon enough because initially McGowan was following National recommendations which Miller disagreed with. He also speaks for all the medics and those on the front line so I don’t think it hurts to listen to a guy that’s on the receiving end of all the whinging.

I’m also going to say that from about April/may last year I also stopped listening to everything, so he could of been far worse than I can imagine

People often think the AMA is a neutral representative body - it is not. They do not register doctors or give medical advice - they are a political lobby group. One of its stated aims is ' leading the health policy debate by developing and promoting alternative policies to those government policies that the AMA considers poorly targeted or ill-informed '. Only 30% of doctors are part of the AMA, too - but I suppose it has become the most important lobby group for doctors, like REIWA for real estate agents and CCI for businesses, even if the majority of real estate agents and businesses don't want to be part of them.

this I can relate to - my mum died in a nursing home during Covid last year. I can’t begin to even articulate the ball of hate that I still have for that place six months on

I know the bushfires are a big deal but surely flooding up north warrants a mention as well?
