Hope you enjoyed your break.
Thanks, it was brilliant.
Time out in nature - away from electricity and the digital world - does wonders for one's outlook on life.
Fantastic hiking weather made it even better. :)

Round 2 Substitutes and Carryover Teams

I'm holding off posting Round 3 handicaps for the moment due to the uncertainty over Naughton. Naturally if he can't play it throws a different complexion on things. So instead I've decided to get cracking on the Round 2 results ...

Firstly there were a few carryover teams. The following twelve didn't nominate a team this week so they get the same five selections they had for Round 1:

cecil
cleveland
Floridog
Fossie 32
lateniter
_Mike_
Mofra
scarrgo
Sharkey66
TempletonTheRat
Vinegar Mess
VL3OJ

Then there was a new entry - Cudi - who didn't enter any selections for Round 1. However as I posted much earlier if anyone wants to join up to Round 5 I will happily generate a random team for them for each round they have missed out. So I did that for Cudi but unfortunately for him it only scored him 31 points (R.Smith, Richards, Dale, Schache, Hunter). 31 points for Dale is better than nothing though and it means he doesn't start Round 2 too far behind the peleton.

Finally there were a few substitutes to be allocated. These were mostly in the carryover sides which had Williams or Bailey Smith. (A reminder that although Williams took the field in the second half he was the medi-sub and the medi-sub can't be included in any Pieman team). The order of substitutes was:
Naughton
Treloar
Crozier
Dale
Hannan
Weightman
Bontempelli

You don't get a sub if he's already in your team. So if you already had Naughton you'd get Treloar and if you already had him as well then you'd get Crozier, and so on.

So subs were applied as follows:
dogwatch - Crozier for Bailey Smith :sadv1:
Floridog - Treloar for Bailey Smith :D
lateniter - Naughton for Bailey Smith :D and Crozier for Williams :sadv1:
@_Mike_ - Naughton for Bailey Smith :D
Mofra - Naughton for Williams :D and Crozier for Bailey Smith :sadv1:
RandomDog - Treloar for Williams :$

All this meant the final teams for Round 2 looked like this:

And a reminder that the goalscorers for Round 2 were:

Libba (2)
Hannan (2)
Scott (2)
English
Ugle-Hagan
Treloar
Naughton
Dale
Weightman
Bontempelli

Results soon!

PIEMAN ROUND 2 RESULTS v CARLTON

The KELVIN

The clear winner this week is SayerTheCreator (200) who doubled up on Libba and Scott and had Treloar as the cherry on top. It was a long way back to Nath09 (143) who picked up a 20 point bonus to just pip TiAn_ (142) for second. _Mike_ (119) and Floridog (111) did well with their carryover teams to come in 4th and 5th respectively. Both picked up the 20 point bonus for 5 different goalscorers. ScragCity (102) was the only other to crack 100 points.

The PIEMAN
With his 200 points this week SayerTheCreator is a clear leader for the season. Nath09 is second 51 points behind and only 9 ahead of _Mike_ who is in third place. TiAn is the only other to have cracked 200 points.

Nice to see 4 newbies in the top five! Only one past winner in the top 20.

Pieman Player of the Week

Anthony Scott kicked a couple to win the PPotW for Round 2 ahead of two other multiple goalscorers Liberatore and Hannan.

Pieman Player of the Year

It's always comforting to the handicapper when he sees a good even spread in the PPotY award. After two rounds there are only 19 points between the top 6 so that's pretty satisfactory.

Bailey Dale is the leader after two rounds.

Where did you go DW? I'm always on the lookout for good hiking areas.
Maria Island. Off the east coast of Tasmania (ferry ex Triabunna). Population zero. The whole place is a NP.

If you're interested in more details PM me.

I've done the handicaps based on the expected changes (Crozier + 1 other out of the 22, Williams, Bailey Smith in) but will hold off posting them until after the club publishes the team, just in case it doesn't turn out like that. There have been hints of a debutant ... McComb perhaps?

Look for the handicaps to be posted here around 7pm tonight.

Excellent location. Lots of Cape Barren geese and surprisingly a lot of tiger snakes also when I visited a few years ago. Is it one of the islands where populations of healthy devils have been taken to try and preserve them?

Yes they are free of the facial tumour but we didn't see or hear any. Blond wombats. Forester kangaroos. Potoroos. Nearly all of Tasmania's endemic bird species can be found there.
I nearly trod on a copperhead down the remote south of the island. An airlift out would have made the local news!
