While I thought Carey would be top of this poll, I can't believe by how much.

Although I guess by definition, other players careers spanned over other decades, while all of Carey's major achievements were during the 90s.

I voted Ablett, more I guess out of thinking that he was the best player (IMO) out of them, as opposed to being the best in the 1990s. Although he wasn't too bad 93-95. Not bad at all.

i vote for carey, by a mile, but i think this poll just proves how underated by non hawthorn supporters jason dunstall was.
he is easily in the top 3-4 players of the 90s. he was consistently rated no1 or no2 by all the magazines etc, and he made and average side, in the later 90s look good.

Dunstall was underrated. Carey was overrated.

fair call that.

This is how i see it. It has to be between carey and ablett. Hird third.
1.Ablett was a very very good player + could do things no one else could dream of doing.
2.Carey was a very magnifacent player
3.Hird is a very good player + could do things no one else could dream of doing.

There-for Ablett just.

Yeah Dunstall is underrated and Carey is overrated. Hird is just sheer class! The best player in the AFL ATM.
I wouldn't say the best anymore mate. He can still produce the best things, but in his old age, he can't do it as often as he used to be able to.

This is embarrassing for everyone else on the list.

If a player is generally considered, along with a player who didn't play in the 90s, to be considered to be the best of all time, then it could follow that he'd obviously be the best player of the 90s...

Carey... Ablett a close second.

But I don't understand why you put James Hird, Nathan Buckley or Michael Voss ahead of Greg Williams who was a better player than all three. Certainly the best midfielder of the 90's.

GREG WILLIANS IS BETTER THAN BUCKLEY/VOSS/HIRD? MATE....PULL YOUR HEAD IN!!!!! ********! YOUR DREAMIN!!!!
