Only had backs, it was an 80's model and one lead daisy chained, and they were well worn and never replaced. So I'd have burned it and smelted it into a hammer to smack some sense into myself for buying it, so needless to say after the first week or so my tiny self went "this is safer to jump from moving bicycle than brake".

Was a sick corner to speed down, skid & turn then yeet myself into a plush bush if it was unlikely to make that corner on a drift. Granted by like 10 I had moved to quad bike and petrol so, it got properly thrashed before then.

Anything that's english bmx from the early 80s, Raleigh bmx started in 82 i think, is massive money now.
Looking at a 1000 pound easy, if u can actually find what u want if u have all orig parts on it hou can add 100s more
Theres been some re-releases of old models in very limited runs and they were sold within hrs
(Think they did a super burner in the gold and black)

I grew up in the uk in the late 70s and 80s and saw the change from shitty little pushbikes to bmx.
Everyone had a bmx by 83
I had the frame, forks and rims all original up to about 20 years ago
Theyre in a tip somewhere now and i still kick myself
If i had of kept them i couldve built the bike up to very close orig spec
😔

Most vintage BMXs are big here too, I built a few up with my kids. Sold a 1980s GT pro performer for $3k but probably spent $2k on it buying bits and paint decals etc. Recently sold a near mint 97 Mongoose Villain for $1600 and now worth more in 6 months.

It's nostalgia, like you people wanted the top of the line stuff so when they get cash they go buy one to hang in the garage. My daughter still has a 80s Kuwahara that she sometimes rides with tuffs and pads. People always stop her to chat though so she gets sick of it.

It's pretty fun building them up and less cash and commitment than a vintage car. I just sold all my old spare parts on marketplace and you get so many people wanting it still.

These old things hit a certain speed and the front wheel shook and handlebars tried to turn from side to side. I think the geometry was just messed up.
So of course you took it on the biggest steepest hill you could find.

That centre gear stick makes me shudder...

You plant that front and launch I can very much feel that potential damage to the groin area.

Front wheel was way too small.
I remember sticking it in a ditch and flying like superman, the gear stick was way behind.
Another time my back brakes weren't working, when i hit the front brake on the gravel, the bike just went down under me and somehow i was left standing on the road.

When 93% of your funding comes in the form of fees and charges, from the very companies you are required to regulate, there is a possibilty of regulatory capture. I don't believe the TGA has been captured by Big Pharma. It's more like a franchise of Big Pharma.
It's about time our government started funding these regulatory bodies, so we can actually see some regulatory integrity.

It wasn't banned.
The loons who wanted it no longer want it.
Who cares what that guy ( American? Can't place his accent) thinks.

Can guarantee he's dumber than most people in the TGA.
His crap is so 2020.

So you are good to go now, yeah ?

Hopefully, Friday will be a week and I am quietly confident on a triple that my cleaning has been on point, but I figure since i have 2 boxes of self test and 5 per might as well use one box and make sure of it.

Then we cooking...
