Re: The redraft a reject thread

Jamie's from East Fremantle and Tom's from South Adelaide, so it's probably unlikely though I don't know for sure.
Why'd you guys axe him for? I thought he was a decent inside midfielder who had a future. He did kick backward once though which cost you the game against the Cats lol.

Re: The redraft a reject thread

Surprised GC didnt take him just to ontrade really.

Would be a good fit as he'd be physically ready to back up the Russian but still have plenty of improvement left.

You cant dominate the SANFL and be a complete spud I wouldnt have thought??

He does seem like a decent option on paper, but then again, PJ has won the VFL's best and fairest award, so in that sense, he's no guarantee.

JOHN Anthony will decide next week whether to leave Collingwood.
The out-of-contract utility played just seven games last season.

Carlton is interested in the 22-year-old. But it is understood salary-cap problems could see the Blues out of the running if Anthony nominated for the pre-season or national draft with a price on his head.

Collingwood has made an offer and is happy to keep Anthony.

---------------

Would be happy to take a punt on him in the pre-season draft if he's around.

That would mean only 2 picks in the National draft if we delist 1 more player.

Im not sold to be honest - I know theyre the premiers, but he's 22 and not getting a regular senior game. Not too many strings to this guys bow either.

Tough call.

That's a bit rough, he played both forward & back this year in the team that finished 1st & won the premiership, collingwood have offered him a contract & said publicly they want to keep him. Main reason he missed games is not so much he went backwards but Dawes went past him. Stringless...

He's a strong mark & a good kick, he did kick 50 goals in 2009. Maybe he could benefit from playing under different coach & in a team that is aware of the corridor.

I'm not entirely sold, but if we are looking at tall forwards at our last pick & we think what's left is average, why not take him?

Yeh thats all fair -although I didnt say he was stringless. I just think he is slightly one-dimensional. Good leadup forward but I wouldnt think he'd move too far up the ground, let alone play in our defense.

RE: ALBERT PROUD

Excuse my ignorance but is that the bloke with the F'ed up hair? He played pretty good when we played the lions up there this year. Is this a case of the Crazy Vossy's or is he just an average footballer?

I believe Mr Proud and all further discussions about him should be in the draft a reject thread.

I believe his issues are off-field and related to alcohol abuse leading to under-performance and disciplinary problems...

Nathan O'Keefe

20 year old 193cm lightly built key forward who played 2 games for North this year.

Pick 59 in the 2008 draft.

Being lightly built he isn't exactly what we need but I thought I saw a bit of talent in him and wouldn't mind him at a late rookie pick.

I'n not in the habit of doing anyone any favours but I personally am not a fan. Only thing he can do is kick straight [which is a big deal in our side] but the guy has no heart. I think he overrates himself.
A side like the Dees needs a pack marker and JA is not your man.
Pity Paul Johnson wasn't a better pack mark - i honestly thought he had the goods

What are peoples thoughts on Still from the Bombers or Notte from West Coast as potential rookie listed players.

I'm actually very surprised to hear that Notte has been delisted, given that his slim build was always going to make him a project player.

I think he would definitely be worth considering for a rookie spot, as he's a very talented kid. His build might pose some problems though, and I've heard he can be a bit lazy as well.

Even so, with his ability I'd be inclined to take a punt on him.

No thanks to Tony Notte. Not sure what everyone else has seen but if he wasn't good enough for Swan Districts league side at the end of the year, then he aint good enough for us.

Haven't read the whole thread so forgive if these names have already been mentioned but how about:

Tyson Goldnuts

Clinton Young

Brad Dick - I know he has been injury prone thus far in his career, but we need a classy small forward and he would probably cost us very little. If we can manage to get him fit he has undoubted talent, but will be behind Fasolo now at Collingwood you would think. Worst case, it stops him from ripping us a new arseh*le on Queens Birthday given it seems to be the only games he ever plays
