Shane Valenti just won his 2nd Liston Medal.

Might cost a compo pick at the rate he is going but offering them up seems to be in vogue

Valent is Brock Mclean in disguise, too slow for AFL level

After 2 bouts major hip surgery he has finally hit his straps, his last 6 weeks in the VFL has been excellent. I'm absolutely devastated we delisted him. The only knock on him was his field kicking and he has that all sorted out now.

Mate that ross kid looked fantastic in the 2's against casey, definently looked a classy type midfielder, surely someone will rookie the kid

I remember Jonno Brown talking him up earlier this year, was quite surprised by that.

Wouldn't say no to putting him on the list if we get rid of Spencer, that's for sure.

You do realize that McCauley will be 25 at the end of this year, he was a mature age rookie.

And he's no forward target, played some alright games this year in the ruck, but he's limited to ruck only.

Based in age & our own ruck stocks, pass.

Oh dear God no! But if Farren Ray is somehow squeezed out due to salary cap (a real possibility) would be very happy to pick him up.

Maybe to McCarthy, showed a bit from what I saw. Don't rate McCaffer though. With only three players to come in via the draft I think if we got one of them it'd be via the rookie list and they mightn't last until then...

I agree. McQualter and Eddy were bit-part players for a reason, whereas Farren Ray was a genuine part of their midfield. I'd definitely snap him up.

Neeld would have a fair idea on McCarthy and McCaffer. The fact that McCarthy was closer to selection than McCaffer would suggest that he's got more to offer.

Given that our first pick isn't till 36 in a supposedly weak draft, I wouldn't mind drafting the best ready made midfielders/small forward from other clubs or the state comps, and picking up kids in the rookie draft. Most clubs tend to senior rookie list these types, so maybe we can beat them to the punch.

My idea was a few big bodies to compliment the younger guys, idea on the same line as McCarthy or McCaffer. Ray is another who may not be the greatest player but his determination alone would compliment our side and a few of these guys have played in grand finals too.

Depth is a luxury to have, it's all good having star players on the field but if not these blokes would be worth having aboard, may be better than picking up another 4 year project player haha

Excellent player without a doubt, consistancy has always been lacking though (sometimes injury the catalyst)

Having him and Davey lurking around Clark would be a highlight banaza!

But really. If you draft Setanta on a one year contract with absolutely no obligation to play him at all, he could be a handy depth player

In all seriousness Motlop will be 30 next year, you would'of thought Port would keep him around for another year on the vet list
