Point taken but with Mourinho being flaunted in front of them it wouldn't at all surprise me if they turfed Mancini. As harsh as it may be, a team with those resources would find it hard to turn down arguably the best manager in the world.

So the strong rumours are that Mourinho is sick of life in Madrid and is looking to return to the Premier League next season. Thoughts on where he would go?

I'd love to have him back at Chelsea, but I just can't see it happening. He was always believed to be Fergie's successor at United but I think the old tosser has at least one more season in him (along with the fact I think they hate each other). Only other real options would be Arsenal, Tottenham or Man City as I see it. Liverpool will no doubt stick with Kenny. But Wenger has been linked with a swap of managers with Madrid, 'Arry has been linked with the soon to be vacant England job but if Man City win the title they couldn't possibly sack Mancini could they?!

Mourinho really isn't the right fit for Arsenal or Tottenham. Both very attacking teams. Although he may be the one to combine a solid defence with the already available ability to attack.

There is also the possibility he could take the England job.

So what is everyones tip if it was to happen come seasons end? I really think he could do wonders at Arsenal if he could keep their attack but implement his usual solid defence.

just cant let that go.....They are thick as thieves those two....practically best mates. I dont know why you think they hate each other.

He is like The Portuguese Sam Allardyce. Fergie loves him like a son.

Liverpool is a backwards club. Their fans, on the most part, would prefer Kenny over Mourinho

I don't think Liverpool is a "backwards" club so much as a club which has lost much of its allure for the very very creme de la creme of managers and players.

While it is possible to imagine a Messi, an Iniesta or a Cristiano at United or City or in London it is impossible to imagine them at Liverpool. Ditto Mourinho.

Not "backwards" but too provincial, too yesterday.

I agree. But why is this? Why are liverpool a 'meh' club in europe now? Lack of result?

I've visited Liverpool city mate. It is a handsome old city but has the air of being out on the edge. You can see and smell the irish Sea which is an arm of the Atlantic. It is on the edge, provincial a port city permanently in the past tense.

LFC are just not a magnet for the greatest talent. Truly great players. real top line talent do not sign for Liverpool. They have never to my knowledge bought a Ballon d'Or winner for instance and simply wouldn't be in the market if for some reason a player of that quality became available. The Zidanes, Fenomenos, Figos, Messis, Iniestas, Cristianos, Kakas etc etc...the award winners don't go to Liverpool.

Manchester, London, Milan, Madrid, Munich, Barcelona and arguably Paris now that PSG are a sugar daddy outfit.....that is where the talent goes.

Mourinho won't be going to Liverpool.

Mourinho won't come to Liverpool, because Liverpool won't have him. No matter how good he is. Our approach will be bringing through the best young players in the game I think.

haha on so many levels. bringing through the best young players in the game? or paying ridiculous prices for english talent from others clubs? (and that's not even getting into the quality/potential of the players compared to their transfer free)

Its certainly been a while since you have

Liverpool fans can't agree on what they are other than a vastly successful club in the 70s-80s

Occasionally the train leaves the station.

As I said above while Liverpool remain a major club the fact is that at the very highest level they are not a buying club. At that level in England there is only United and the 2 sugar daddy outfits

At the very top of the game inhabited by Madrid, Barca, United and the likes of City and PSG Liverpool simply are not at the table in seeking out the truly big buys. EG when David Villa became available he went to Barca. it would have been no surprise to see him in manchester or London but would have been shocking to see him turn up at Liverpool.

Then why spend 16 million quid on Stewart Downing?

And equally as much on Charlie Adam?

Liverpool want a quick fix and have done since the Benitez era when the likes of Luis Garcia were brought in

Its kinda shit, you'd prefer them to do the Arsenal thing than see muppets like Downing and Kyrakos wearing the shirt

In which case Mourinho makes sense, and they will shove any grudges down the toilet to get a whiff of his signiture
